Sounds great to me. Somone had mentioned landing pads with camps, but it could work for the cabin as well (and probably makes more sense).ya, that does sound familiar
Since everybody else quoted, I thought I would too. LOL.
Anyhoo, since it is in the game, make the HTFB able to fight from and use it for a landing pad. Give it a say 30-60 minute time limit to be totally huntable from, and landing ship.
(another plug about modding the beam rifle for ranger use.)
I remember the shuttle (or other from Outdoorsman Proposal) I was just looking to expand
oo and since this is now the quoting thread
I wonder how long of a quote we can get going here before it really starts to get annoying. But, on topic, I like this method of handling things. I wouldn't mind still being able to take off out of a camp (as then I would never have to go out of my way to take off) but landing at a dedicated spot makes things a bit more straightforward for the landing half of things. Although I wouldn't mind Rangers just being able to land anywhere at all and then set up a camp for others to land at.
I just wanted to add my name to the quote list
Firstly, We seem to be crushing Calc into a singularity
Secondly, this seems like something that would work VERY WELL with our modular camp idea.
It's called a Pyrimid. It's been known to close threads. You see this a lot on Eclipse with subject names like "Hi Ashni!" and anything to do with JymTarr.

Calc, feel the pressure? Well that is peer pressure if I have ever seen it!
I agree that this would work very well in the modular camp idea. I also like the idea of setting up a semi-perm structure on Dath/Endor/Etc that me and afew people that I allow can use our star ship to take off and land, store a few things, and have a great place to log. In addition I really like the idea of the hunting cabin (as well as the Outdoorsman and Stealth posts) and thought this might help to "push"the Cabin Ideaa bit.

The difference is that we are trying to be constructive. We are trying to comment on the great idea of having a place to take off from that doesn't involve going into a city. If this does happen, I recommend that, on Eclipse, we get the Rangers to set this sort of thing up for ourselves. Each Ranger picks a different planet (possibly several per planet to keep the area selection more interesting) and we all add eachother to the access lists.

I like the idea especially for the GCW. Using Rangers to establish a Beachead fairly close to an assault target and just ferry the troops in.

To think that we would put that much thought into this..... the whole idea rocks! This would give camps back some use!Once deployed they would appear on map! You would have to limit the amount per area. Or the GEO caves would look like LA AIRPORT!!! just my .02 cents.
