nice idea about a ranger rifle and pistol but I'm a carbineer/master ranger I think giving rangers a weapon at master would be difficult. Perhaps have a quest that only master rangers can do and as a reward you get to choose either a pistol carbine or rifle(all similar stats relative to the weapon type) that is certed for master ranger
Make it look very antiquated or outdoorsy and such but be effective maybe have creature to hit bonus or something like that on it who knows.!
BUT PLEASE give us some general speed/acc/defense bonus's please!
No love for the melee Rangers?

its for the holo-vids
If a weapon, something similar to the Tusken Rifle but more powerful (extremely slow but powerful)
Once again... we dont want to single out the ranged rangers vs. the melee rangers. A rifle would be useless in the hands of a melee ranger. If they gave us a gun, then the melee rangers would not have the speed/ accuracy to actually wield it effectively. Thats why either modified traps, or a trap launcher would make sense to me..

Ok, I'm no Bounty Hunter, but I've had on more than one occasion Jedis come in for an attack, Cloak and run off. In my opinion, Rangers should be able to area track cloaked Jedis. I'm not saying we should be able to break their cloak, I'm just saying they are invisible, but they will still leave footprints, tracks of where there are and have been, and Rangers being the ultimate Outdoorsman know darn well how to follow tracks. What do you guys think?
Turn on Simple Shadows. You will see them.
Also, /areatrack has been said to reveal the distance / direction of cloaked Jedis, even though I myself have not tested this.
This is what I want to see:
- Weapon powerups craftable by Rangers that increase creature accuracy / damage / wounding, or can apply a state upon them (much like our traps do, but this would be a good substitute for a Ranger-only weapon if they will not give them to us.) And, can only be placed onto a weapon by a Ranger / Scout with its proficiency.
- The ability to craft a single-use schematic to give to an Architect, that would create a "stuffed" version of a random swg creature. Also, another Architect schematic that would create a "skinned rug."
- The ability to craft a single-use schematic to give to a Tailor, that would create an article of clothing (cloak, headwear, etc) that has an obvious origin from a creature's hide (set to a few species of creature that would be required as a component in the schematic.)
- For camo kits to make us physically invisible (with a chameleon effect, aka the visual camo would be slightly rippled while moving) and to dissappear off of the radar.
- For components that are looted from creatures to have a better quality when they are looted by a Master Ranger.
- For a few new traps that affect npcs, to either slow or stop them (no stat effects, nor damage.)
- For Weaponsmiths to be able to craft a weapon that increases our creature harvesting modifier, and is only equippable by a Ranger of varying skill levels depending upon the modifier (+5 at novice, +10 at x1xx, +15 at x2xx, and so on.) And, this wouldrequire using as many creature-looted components in the weapon as possible.
- For Rangers who are camoflauged after being Incapped by a creature to have an increasing chance at resisting a creature'sdeath blow, with a 75% chance at Master Ranger.
- For Camo kits to work on all NPCs in a Non-city environment.
- For foraged items to be an optional enhancing component in the foods Chefs can craft that specifically benefit Ranger / Scout abilities.
- For camp kits to actually repellcreatures like they are supposed to.
- Increased Creature to-hit and damage modifiers, which should be +50 for each at Master Ranger if not more.
- General melee / ranged speed modifiers.
- A schematic for Architects to be able to craft a "Tree House" for us Rangers to feel at home in. It would need the storage capacity of a small house, because of the weight the "Tree" can support.
- A "critical hit" ability against creatures, which would be a step up from "creature knowledge" because we "know where to hit them."
- To be able to camoflauge NPCs that we have to protect and bring from one point to another, but it would not remove them from the map or view.

ah-hummina-hummina.. 8P
And I get to hunt with Ditah...
I 'wand'...?
Camo netting for vehicles... and buildings, trench digging capability, more military style camps and army stuff! Lots of Army stuff!
Magic dust of revealing hidden Jedi's! Stunning weapons like cattle prods to poke naughty Entertainers!
These are most important since a ranger is now at a disadvantage against any other dual elite combat prof.
- Defence Bonuses (probably more melee defence than ranged since most animals are melee).
- Accuracy Bonuses (ranger in any other context usually have very high accuracy).
Other stuff
- Trapping to work against npc's
- Camo to have a unique effect, like invisibility. (Work in-doors and against npc's would bea dream)
- Tracking to be more active (like the scout ability in EQ2) i.e. you can have the box up and it continually updates. You can apply different filters etc to filter certain con levels, mob types etc.
- Rescue to actually work and with an indication if it did or not.
- Some use for camps.

I want soemthign big. Somethin just for us. Not for scouts or Jedi or Rifleman- ranger only.
Take away Rifleman invisibility. Take away Jedi cloaking too. And... give it to rangers.
Take away snare and root for other professions and give it to us exclusively, like before.
Well, assuming that doesn't happen...
Trapping
Let me place traps on Kashyyyk. Lure traps. It is the perfect set up- long, narrow ravines that force you into them. But make it soemthing fun, not a harvester. Make it something that is actually fun to set up and and use.
Give me a bolla, throwable from a mount, like the guachos in South America use. That would be cool.
Hunting
Let us harvest creature items. I was really bummed out when I found out everyone could get those poison sacs and spider legs and whatnot, which had been an ability at one point proposed as a ranger-only thing. Take it away from all thos other people- it's my turn to be selfish now. we could use these items to enhance traps and whatnot, or maybe make "lures" that will draw animals to it (for example, Krayt Pheremones draw Krayts), thus creating a natural spawn for the hunter (and his group if he's in one) to save time on getting missions. May be negative for tracking, but that isnt very fun anyways, and they could improve it.
A hunter ought to know a critters weakspots and exactly how to get to him. Give us accurcacy, defense, and damage bonuses verse creatures. The way I have always seen ranger is like this... there is a small hunting party strugging against a critter (usually a rancor), and then the ranger comes in (he's usually camoflauged, and always a bothan
). He throws in a trap, takes aim at the critter and hit him hard enough that the rest of the fighters are able to move in for the kill while the creature struggles with the trap
Camo
DON'T LETNON-RANGERS USE OUR KITS!
Camping
For goodness sake just give us something that is fun, I dont care, just something cool that isnt just eye candy. Make the dejaric game board in the camp WORK! Make an animals get ZAPPED when it walks into the energy fence! SOMETHING!
Tracking
Let us see more than just the animal name- let us see the CL too. Or, completely re-do the interface or the whole process so it is more like actively seeking an animal than hitting abutton, just looking around and seeing critters.
Hey, sorry to write a whole novel, but the servers are down and I have nothing else better to do.
