Thread: Deep Sea Fishing
What's the minimum level camp that can have a platform? Dunno, either let any BH setup a novice scout camp to pick-off his mark from or make it any ranger camp (so master scouts can get them from novice rangers)?
Of-course new vehicles and new graphics would be more fun... revamp item vs minor change...
Boats as well as various other ground vehicles would be involved in this, and they could easily pull in various vehicles certs for various professions, giving Rangers camp boats, that give traditional camping bonuses, crafting stations, etc.

Well we dont know what the next expansion will be. I still think it will be new planets that you will only be able to get to with special terminals like the space ones to control who has access to them. Maybe new vehicles with that. Although there really isnt much difference in teh ones we have. I think an aircraft would be good though
hey you! stick to the topic!
anyways,
i"m glad more people posted! thank you for the support. I realize this is not a big deal, and is not anywhere on anyone(that matters)'s priority list. But i'm really passionate about this idea because i can't stand that fact that when i stand on the shore infront of my Guild hall, all i see is wasted space infront of me....
and, fishing is a royal pain if your actually trying to harvest any usable/sellable amount. and fish meat does go into shift. i feel this is an aspect of the game that could contribute, but was forgotten about long ago, not only by the devs, but by the players.
It should be another method to supply BE's/Docs/Chefs, whathaveyou, with valuable goods....but, alot of people don't even know this system exists!!! Dant Fish meat on my server shifted into 990+ OQ/PE not too long ago!! but for me to actually make any money off of it would have been too much of an investment in time and boredom. And besides, the "......held the Record for Largest Fish Caught on XXXX " badge is reason enough to implement this!![]()

So saturday night is 1:30am and threes the three of us fishing 4700m from anything on Talus in this amazing location and there having fun! It was so weird and reminded me where this game was meant to go. BTW when your on the edge of a lake turn the sound up and hear the water rushing and the other wildlife sounds. It really really helps with immersion.
I think the mini-games are what give this game its flavor. And when people learn and see them they are impressed there is more to do then kill creatures in comp.
Ok remember playing devils advocate here. Just to reply before SOE does. If you did that wouldnt it give scouts/rangers an unfair advantage against the swimming jedis? Since they would then be able to use there specials and stuff while the jedi are trying to avoid capture?
Oh btw most people dont know this you can shoot non-specials from the back of a mount in the water. But thats just a tip
- Camp Module - Using the concept of the modular camping (which I LOVE), a fishing module could be added which enables the camper to catch bigger badder fish. This would be pretty simple since you'd just submerge a camp as you currently can and fish to your hearts content. If you have this module on and are nowhere near water... tough noggies... no fishing. IMO, this is the easiest to implement, doesn't allow for exploits and only enhances the concept of modular camping
- Fishing Platform - Thinking as I type here.... this could be a whole other thing that you can set-up like a camp, but can only be done while swimming. You could get bigger and better fishing platforms as you climb up scout/ranger and eventually have something that was like a floating party raft that you can fish off of. This I see being VERY problematic with jedi, and battles etc. and lead to major exploits. Moreover, I don't think the mechanics of setting up a 'camp' while swimming works well with the existing game mechanics.
- Ice fishing on Hoth - first... add Hoth! second... let rangers build an ice fishing module to add into their camps.
Oh man... the more I think about this, the more I was modular camping. Wow, modular camping is one of the greatest ideas EVER. Owen, calc, JB and crew... I have faith in you when it comes to a ranger revamp and I REALLY hope this ideas comes to fruition. There is SOO much potential with it.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but if they add Hoth (and I hope they do) they NEED to add environmental damage otherwise the moment will be lost when half-naked folks running around in the garment that shall not be named. In all seriousness, I always RP the sandstorms on Tat and setup at least a pup tent. Environmental conditions impacting the game would give it more of an immmersive feal.
and as a complete aside: "I caught you a delicious bass."
