No technically
Against high energy/acid resistive creatures you can go far with an jawa and a sg

PvP aside, i think the jawa rifle is a good close combat weapon (for when stun is not useless). At master rifles it's less uncommon to hit in dungeon type places (i havnt had too many problems with a good team) but when you need to fight up close and dirty but dont really want to use pointblank, i think the jawa is good. As for the SG, itsnot great, but it does sound and look different, which means i use it, since while it dosnt always do great damage, its kinda fun.
They are both marksman, but the extra damage types are worth it, there just might be a time when something is resistent to all of them, or maybe 3 of the 4 *cough, nightsisters, cough*, but having the types when you need them is worth it.

For CQB I tend to use my rusty ol' spraystick. Bung on a damage PuP, and it's lack of punch is more than made up for by the rate of fire. Besides, if it's got that close, am probably going to be dead / mauled soon anyway and pistols are just going to start draining another pool. Might as well flatten that mind first.
(Did a scary amount of my Scout tree with the spraystick. Developed the habit of hitting follow, then spamming the heaviest hitting shot into the creature I could while walking 'into' it. Seemed to stop them hitting back so often, but not recommended for anything bigger than a bantha, lol)
In another place am using a speed sliced Berserker, with speed/damage Pup. The toon is a Master Marksman / Master Rifleman with the remnants of Rangerdom still attached. Gives him an impressive rate of fire, nice heat damage, falling back on the T21 for big / tough creatures. He's useless without buffs, booze and occasional drugs though.

Well, I stand corrected then.. Besides, I'm cranky and can't even remember what weapon does what damage at the moment. Blast damage, energy damage... I can't remember. For the past month, I've only been able to log onto SWG for the ranger meet and play for two hours. And it looks like I won't even be able to log on until September at the rate things are going. All I've got is the ability to check the forums on a slow dial-up connection! I'm in the middle of a cross country move, and things are going very slow.
Anyway.. Yeah, Fred.. actually I've noticed that Canyon Krayt dragons have low cold resists.
Still, for everything that I hunt solo for harvesting purposes, the t21 does the job. I used to use my DXR6 exclusively until I made master rifles, but now only use it on Rancors.. and I think Gurrecks and a few other things.

I felt the same "fustration" as you. As a riflebothan, you are not very good in Dungeons. This is one of the reasons I surrendered Ranger, to try other combat professions while I maintain rifle and seek if some would appael more to me.... The other side of the coinis that I have always been the most sought player of my guild when someone wanted to "hunt" Night Sisters (headshot3)

I love the idea of this template. Unfortunetly, you really get your speed in Rifleman when you get Master Marksman also.
I should add, as a Rifleman, I have never ever used a SG on any MOB including the larger kimo varients. The only time I used a Jawa in PvE was on Dath, in the spider cave, against an auspix. Medium Armor, 30K HAM. 100% Energy, 90% Acid, 55% Stun.
