I've always interpreted the "killer" value as boolean. Meaning 0 = false and 1 = true. I don't know if that's correct, but I use that as a guide when leading my group. To the best of my knowledge, none of my party members has been DB'ed by a 0.

Just my 2 creds...

The boolean value is what I always believed, and I have bugged every instance of killer 0 mobs deathblowing me. For a period there I was batting 1000 (brackasets, humbabas, kwi swarms, robas were all killing me).

I incapped for the first time in a while last night and I wasn't given a deathblow, so that was a good departure from my past experience. We will see if it continues.

Thanks all, the boolean seems to be the consensus... that was what I believed until I read the now apparently false report that it was a count of some sort.

I do believe that I have been db'd by 0's. And I usually keep a pretty good count on my incaps to avoid the third strike... but I can't say definitively that the deathblow by 0's were not third incaps... I just wasn't thinking about it at the time.

The truth is that I stopped using examine at all cause let's face it... once you know your personal kill record with particular mobs... you don't need to study 'em first, and I tend to kill the same stuff over and over again for the harvest. I may use examine if I come across something new... but /consider is usually my first guide... and I almost always use examine when I come across something new a second time after returning from the cloning center...
