Just buy the xp. I paid 25000 to have someone keep getting hurt and visiting my camps (I took novice medic to heal them) and got though the last box in a couple of evenings.
For the lower boxes I bought a pet and had it attacking rats and the like. The pet cost 35000. I have novice medic so healed it every time.
Tried macro-ing it but it is just too slow.
Tried fishing - incredibly slow.
If doing it again, I'd skip the pet and and just pay newbies to visit.
Important thing to remember is that camping is a waste of time at ranger level - I've 2 crates of HTFBs and never use them. So finding a way to get that xp out of the way fast is cost effective. Right now, a single buff can make me 1 million credits. So paying someone 25k to ge tthis crap out of the way makes sense.
