Solicitng services counts as trading. Think of it this way, he is trading cash for the service of tracking....
Unfortunately though anybody who puts up a Tracking service on the trade forums he'll have to bump it every few hours because people dont look on the trade forums for a rangers' services. They look here. Its where I get all my business.
ANd based on that theory the Ranger +services list on this forum should belong in each and every trade forum instead.

Trade forums have to be continually bumped anyway, so services doesn't differentiate from regular posts at all. For people to see it, it must be bumped. So while yes, you'd have to keep checking it, that in no way differs from any other trade. People DO look for Ranger services on the trade forums. That's where I find out what good meat/hide is in shift and I can make contacts there too.
As to your point about the Rangers services being on the trade forum...it's here because people can't seem to find their way to the trade forums. It's here to PREVENT people from making posts asking for services. It wouldn't do much good at stopping people from posting here if it was on the trade forums now, would it?
In the end, any exchange which involves credits is known as "trade". Services, credits, goods, time---if you're exchanging one thing for another that's trade- and any post about making a trade belongs in the trade forum.

No, it's part of the Hero of Tatooine quest. But it might as well be jedi trial, since all the padawans LOVE their rez rings.
BTW i got mine yesterday. I ran into the pirates while hunting squills with newbies.
