Thread: Congratulations Rangers we have a PA!!!!
I would suggest that if you are already a member of a P.A. or are just a Lone Wolf and have no intrest in forming or joining an official P.A. that you place the Antarian Rangers (AR) tag in your bio. That way you can at least be identified by your fellows as being a supporter and ally.
I'd like to help get this started on Gorath.
email me ingame...
Zkull,
First off, let me say it was a pleasure to meet you - Rangers, this guys knows his stuff.
This is the first I have heard of an inter-galactic (multiple servers) Ranger Guild. I thought that each Galaxy was setting up their own Guild and meetings were open to everyoneas a means toassist each community. Inter-server Guilds can be difficult to run, especially due to the almost complete lack of interaction and continuity.
However, I think it's a good idea. ![]()
If I may make a suggestion, though, is that we let the Guilds separate for now. I think all the ones springing up now (Flurry, Bloodfin, etc...) are modeled after Ahazi's anyway. The reason I suggest this is at this stage each Guild will have different character and characters. You know how hard it is to please the Ranger community of one server. Now imagine trying to please multiple servers... I think you know how difficult that will be.
Once each Guild has a firmly rooted economy we should then seriously consider inter-galactic service. No one will have rule absolute, but we will have a common goal and community. Yes, there will be differences. Yes, some Guilds may run things differently. They might even have different names! (go andarians!) But by doing this we can create a better community as a whole. Here's why:
The Guilds are all new right now. Each Guild will have different stategies and experiences. Once they have succeeded, though, we can share our ideas with one another to figure out the best way to start a guild. Take a bit from each server, to make a better product when a new Ranger Guild is born on a server that currently has no plans for one. Once the inter-server Guild is up, then we can help support new Guilds on other servers as they appear.
All of that is a ways off, and I think the best idea for now is to try different things out, but keep communicating with one another. Visit meetings on other servers, offer opinions and gather ideas.
Zkull, I think you have started something great, indeed, and as long as we all work together it will exceed our expectations. I hopeyou don't think Ihave insulted you in any way. The Ranger community as a whole holds you in high regard. Sorry for the length, though. I always type too much.
Avido
Thanks, that's a great idea for those of us already members of other PAs, except I think in the entire time I've been playing I think I have only looked at 2 people's bio's. I Guess I'll start looking more.
Great name! I had completely forgotten about the Antarian Rangers. What a great roleplay vehicle for Rangers in SWG.
If anyone's interested in forming an Intrepid branch, let me know. I'd love to get this going!
Great work Zkull!
I like the fact that you started your own Ranger PA and I love the name too. I do have a question what about faction? Are your rangers going to be all Rebel or all Imperial? Why can't we Rangers have two PAs... lol?
Guac
Man I wish we could edit...
Zkull, do you have a website/message board set up yet?
@Avido:
Hmmm.. Didn't read anything in there that would have insulted me - did i miss something? ![]()
Anyway, as far as the different guilds and goals, I fully understand that and obviously am not advocating that all Ranger guilds do the exact same thing, etc that we on Ahazi have decided. My only thought is that if a galaxy is going to create a guild in response to our posts and efforts and now call themselves the Andarian Rangers, they should essentially be a branch of the entire SWG Andarian Rangers. The reason I say this is we all have the ability to create characters on each galaxy and many of us have. If I meet an Andarian Ranger on one server, I would like to know they are of the same thought and mind as on the others. Since we will, hopefully, become a well-recognized group, I would want the community in any galaxy to know where we stand and what we do.I guess, basically, I was thinking this would be similar to a large organization having branches in different countries. Obviously, each galaxy would have their own leaders and such, but I assumed the goals and policies would be consistent (with minor exceptions) throughout SWG - at least for the Andarian Rangers.
I didn't think that communicating with each other would be an issue since we have this board for the moment, and eventually will have our own forum/website, which would be the easiest way to communicate, even for members of the same galaxy. Plus the option of having intergalactic meetings sounded pretty cool too.
Maybe I'm wrong in feeling that way, and as always, I will go with the majority on whatever happens. Regardless, I think it is a great thing that galaxies are in the process of creating Ranger guilds.
@Halden
Yes we will have a website, but it will be after we get our ingame act together unless folks have some time to put it all together. We are looking into one of the free forums available for immediate use and I will post it onceI have more information.
@Guac
We include all factions and PAs. Members will not fight each other except for friendly duels and/or on large raids/battlefields where you may not be able to control the situation. But in the cities, country, meetings - no attacking a fellow member!

I would like to congratulate you on this Ranger PA concept(I am in an all Wookiee PA on Bria).
Your description is much as ours. One thing we need to make clear in our PA and looks like you should too is,"No Factions Missions when in a PA Group Hunt!". Had this happen to me the other night let someone join the group and he didn't tell us he had picked an Imperial Mission, I'm a Neutral and it only garnered me 1 Imperial Faction Point , but it can mess up some players faction points/desires.
