The scouts/rangers need change your mind about the grouping. The soloing days ended!

Not this Ranger. I can't convince anyone I meet to go with me anymore ("d*mn you sure travel a lot. I'd rather just stick around 2m from Coronet. See ya!"). You keep your PA. You can call me when the "Big Hunt" starts but while I wait for that to get organized I have clients that need meat and hide (and sometimes bones). I also want to see more of the planet, each planet, then a destroy mission run.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

<<So my question to my fellow rangers is this: Concerning this particular MoB (and translating this across the bigger picture) are we seeing an overall decrease in the number of resources being issued from MoBs.>>

When I was a scout and saw how creature harvesting is a viable living in the game, I told all my friends that I figured out what I wanted to do. They all said.. "that's so boring.. but whatever." That only made me want to do it more. hehe This is coming from a guy who would get up early on Sundays and mine, lumberjack, or harvest animalson UO for hours until noon and do it all through the week.

Anyway, when I saw this could be a viable profession I tracked a few creatures to see what the increases were as I moved up the ladder. All examples were fat and healthy

A wort as a scout 7 skins, Bio 1 - 8, Bio 2 -8, Bio 3 - 9, Bio 4 - 11. Last night 7

A krettle as a scout 4 skins, Bio 1 - 5, Bio 2 - 5, Bio 3 - 6, Bio 4 - 10. Last night 4

A rill as a scout 8 skins, Bio 1 - 9, Bio 2 - 10, Bio 3 - 11, Bio 4 - 12. Last night 8.

I was only tracking these because I was curious what the progression will be. I can tell you that the Banthas that would give me 49 hides are now giving only 29 hides solo, and 18 grouped. I still don't see how grouping is going to help, especially since if I'm not solo, I'm hunting with my pal or PA and everytime at the end of the night, I look in my bag and I've got bupkis.

I think the devs origional instincts were the correct ones. Creating babysitting systems because a few immature people can't cooperate on thier own is wasted dev time. I have yet to meet a ranger who wasn't fair and equitable. In any case, I believe that the 60% rule will fail to encourage grouping for the same reason that some people can't be trusted in a group. Self interest. What do I care if the *group* get's more resources when *I* get less?

The only way to get the desired result of more grouping is to lower the overall resource rate and give all scouts in a group 100% harvesting rites. That way the encouragement to group is faster killing, which might be enough, but then it might be exploitable with huge groups taking down huge mobs very quickly. I think this whole exercise was a waste of time.

i agree whith the 60% harvest in groups. what i want to know is if the 60% harvest solo is a bug or if it is working as intended.

I just want that answered.
