Yeah, believe me. I know to shut up.... but, I rarely do. Heh... If I push it far enough I usually get a "I'm not talking to you anymore tonight!" Woohoo! Mission success! Hehe....

If you get a chance I highly recommend visiting what used to be bavaria, extremely friendly people and I liked the castles, the people, and especially the beer

The Hoffbrauhaus in Munich is such a nice place to sit, have a liter glass of white beer and some piping hot potato and sausage soup, and try and read what people have carved into the tables for the last 100 years

Now that it's OK to support the removal of classes in your signature, I firmly support the removal of all the benny hill glowstick fanclub from the game; it was a lot more fun before they came.

Hey,

I'm new to these forums (mastered yesterday, woot!), however I do a hell of a lot of travelling around Europe and of recently, the rest of the world.

I'm from Nottingham, England, and yes, the problem with our little island is definitely the fuel/gas/petrol or whatever you'd like to call it prices. My favourite two places in the UK for time wih the Wife have got to be the Lake District National Park and certain areas of Scotland (mainly the uppermost highlands). Public transport is generally cheap, regular and at most parts on-time!! Accommodation is normally to a good standard and can be aquired at the drop of a hat! (travel lodges etc are around £40 per room per night)

Prices can vary throughout the season though, summer more expensive, but not much and the further south you go the prices increase with how close you get to London. Weather is very hot at the moment and doesn't seem to be fading out so if you choose to come to the UK bring plenty of t-shirts and shorts!!

Hope I've been of some help with info on the UK. Like I said, I've travelled most of Europe so if you would like a guide to a specific country give me a shout on here.

Enjoy!

Having spent 3 years living in Europe - well Uncle told me to go there, no choice - same difference.

Realize the time of the year is a factor also. France is closed in August. But who cares? Rude people. They drink wine.

Ireland and England are truly outstanding. Scenic, historical, and if you try really hard you can understand the language the natives speak. Guiness and Black and Tans.

Germany is very nice. Scenic. Great beers. Virtually a microbrew in each town. Festivals year round. They never work there.

Missed going to Holland though. Had a friend from there, said is was damp all the time.

And yes, only in England do they drive on the other side of the road. Alas, you missed the era of no speed limit autobahns in Germany. Gas is super expensive, take trains. They generally run on time and are fairly cheap.

Did I mention the beer?

Just to comment on what JB said, trains in mainland Europe are probably good and on time, dont expect the same quality of service in England our trains a truly a disgrace....if they're even running that is.

Petrol I have been told is very pricey compared with the US, think we are at about 85plitre (x4.5 = 3.83 per gallon, factor in exchange rate.....and it is about $7 as someone mentioned above.

Oh and I think you'll find that we drive on the correct side of the road and the entire world drives on the wrong side....lol
