Thread: Camps and battle? What's the deal?

>>> If you're able to fight from within a camp, and you have a medic with you, they would be able to heal both your normal damage(which is fine) and your wound damage, which is definetly not wanted by the dev's because then there is zero risk to attacking anything because you'd have one person initiate the combat, while your medics would just heal/cure everything that comes along, and while what you're saying is not an exploit, the above would be considered one.<<<

I also can't figure out what actually causes a camp to "fold" when you enter combat, because sometimes mine do and sometimes they don't. I believe the developers have considered what you are saying, Psyche. If they didn't feel that camps could be exploited in the way you are describing, they wouldn't have made them so they breakunder certain conditions. Also, they wouldn't have made it so you can't camp too close to a lair. It's not like we can mow over a bunch of desert squills while laying in a camp. However, I wouldn't expect a few womp rats can take down one of my camps either.

Exactly LastEE,

The question was posted in another thread about what our role is in PvP. Well, the only role I see right now is camping. Those droids are stiff competition, but I don't believe they are better than our last two camps. I might be wrong, though. So, next time...protest a bit and tell 'em you're a ranger.

Healing wounds while in combat is not even remotely overpowering. I've never once died to wounds specifically. In the course of a battle, it has always been due to running out of health, action, or mind.

Lastee: I thought medical droids could only be used in a camp or house (pointless I know), or in a town (though not in cantinas)? Perhaps it has changed.

The biggest change the devs could make to increase the usefulness of camps is to increase the wound damage received in the course of combat. I only seek wound healing after dying, not in between battles. If my group and I had signficant wounds (say 100 or more) after a nasty fight, my camp would be more useful. Maybe I need to visit more challenging planets though.
