Thread: New Milk Spawn

I find milk in debris piles. It is a very rare spawn at the moment. Also I have heard certain NPC's will drop them such as the Dathomir Nightsisters, but I have not yet confirmed that.
I want to meet the person who'sbadass enough tosuccessfully milk a Nightsister. <shudders>
"We are looking for anyhting at this point."
Yeah I'm with you on that. ![]()
However, being considered the Milk Maids of the Galaxy doesn't really go with my philosophy for the profession. ![]()
I don't especially want to be the neighborhood milkmaid either but it doesn't really make much sense to have random bottles of milk appearing in piles of debris either (are those debris piles refrigerated?) ![]()
As rangers, shouldn't we be the ones who are most capable of finding rare natural resources? So unless the devs put in some other really great and unique thing that only rangers can do (and many great ideas in that regard have already appeared on the forums), i wouldn't mind having at least something resembling a monopoly to make my profession unique, even if it is just dairy products ![]()
and no, i am not milking a nightsister, ever

The debris piles aren't... But the containers the milk is found in is probably a fusion powered thermos container.
- Yeah... That's it.

Yes, the amount of milk "milked" should probably be associated with our harvesting skill.
- I will see whether that is the case, and find out if it can be connected, if not.

I agree, but do you really want milking to be one of those defining traits?
Personally, I would prefer something a little more distinctive to define our profession...
- But that's just me.
Considering we havent had a significant update in over four months. Our camps still dont work right. Our conceal has been completely borked. Our terrain negotiation has been thoroughly trivialized by mounts and vehicles. Our foraging has never worked the way it should. Fishing is a COMPLETE joke and waste of time. We wait for weeks and weekk for word from the devs. they only answer abotu half our concerns and that answer is, in so many words " Yea, we still know you are broken and we will get around to fixing you someday. Be patient for another six months".
So, in answers to your query. Yes, if milk is all we can get at our dinner table, Then I will take milk
I shudder to think what the character animation will be like to go with "you milk the creature".
The whole idea of milk bothers me full stop, it's not exactly the first thing I think of when I imagine a Star Wars Universe Ranger.
Do the rangers need some unique skills? Yes. Does this skill need to be milking animals? No.
Milk should be like anyother natural resouce and harvestable by scouts. Hunting should play a role in the quantities that are obtianed. If any profession should have exclusive rights on milking, it should be creature handler, not Ranger.
They need to make ranger tracking better.
Think of all the Milking Stools the artisans will craft, and the Milking powerups (Chocolate, Strawberry). DEs will want to craft Milkbots that tend your herd of humbabaa.
This has rich potential for abuse, of the literary sort.
Remember that you harvest DEAD animals.
Despite the 'ha ha' nature of thinking 'pull those teats', you'd probably actually just be punturing the milk sacs/glands to drain them, not actually 'milking' the whatever.
I know, I know, leave the boys to their breast dreams, right?
puncturing the milk glands is somehow more appetizing that simply milking the animal. Honestly, if in the next life I'm a cow and you're a farmer (and for some odd reason I'm a female cow) please milk me instead of trying to puncture my milk glands. ok?
"Rangers should be the sole source for eggs and milk."
I thought I had pretty much covered the bases when I said that I did not want the SWG Ranger to be Grizzly Adams, Aragorn or Robin Hood. Apparently I should have included Old MacDonald on that list. =)
I believe we have found our much-sought-after identity! We're theSWG farmers!! We harvest with the click of a button, we apparently milk herbivores (mmmmmm Snorbal Shakes...) and get eggs from avians (anyone for a VirVur omelet?), and tracking pretty much makes any given planet our back 40 - we know just where our herd of pikets is at any givenmoment! = )
~Wen, AKA Kyndel Stokes, Master Ranger
I am a Master Be and Tailor. I have never had to really depend on anyone to get resources for me. If Rangers were the only profession that could get the milk then I believe it would be a great thing. It would make the Ranger profession even that more Elite. Right now camping out for weeks at a time just to get the milk is aggrevating. You have to constatly work with other campers that are there waiting for the milk to spawn. Rangers would be a difinite need and make them more of a known profession. You could get the one resource that makes a BE very happy. I've asked around and have always been told that the going rate for milk is about 4k per 1unit. This would help the Ranger with some cash flow.
Anyways, I just thought I would put a small opinion in there, if I offended anyone, I appaulogize.
