Everyones responces were right on the moneyI think.

I love being a ranger, and went for it after I started not liking what they did to CH, and I enjoyed Scout so much I went for it. Its an awsome support profession to whatever you use to battle with.

I think of it like the BASF comercials.

Rangers don't let you do a lot things, they let you do a lot of things better.

I have always been a fan of the ranger since I was a little kid.I remember watching the Dungeons and Dragons cartoons and seeing how the older boy,who was a ranger, was always watching out for the other kids,he was always the one with the cool head, who would lead his party out of dangerous situations.I was also a big fan of archery in rl,so in just about every adventure game out there,I have always gravitated towards the ranger or archer types( most fun archer was in AC,a 2 school archer. That game had great ranged combat. Not much else though).

I even played a ranger type of character in Ultima Online, when the archery skill was pretty much hosed and people laughed at you for using archery(this was pre AoS)

I have always been more of a PvE player also.I always wanted to help other players, not kill them.*shrug*

Right now I'm definitely one of those who loves the idea, the image of the ranger as opposed to the reality we have right now.But I'm also hopeful things will continue to improve for us.I also have to agree with what has been said about the players who play rangers and the ranger( and scout) forums. Some of the most informative and helpful posts are found in those forums.

Love the idea of the ranger chat channel,I'll check it out( I also play on Radiant).

If there are Rangers in a game, I play one. Sometimes I play one even if there aren't. In Planetside I ran ahead of my team's main force to sweep traps, scout targets and harass enemies at rally points.
coolness(Ranger) > coolness(Jedi); anyone can win with magic powers, try doing it with just your wits.

Here, Rangers have some issues: we're a combat class with no real combat ability, and at the end of the day we're nothing but elite blue collar workers. (I can raise tens of thousands of credits selling high-quality creature resources; crafters have millions.) I still have fun with mine.
