Thread: What traps do you folks use?

To maximize my scouting xp, I make a batch of all the traps and drag them in my hotkey pad. I then throw a string of them on the same animal. Sometimes a few will fail bacause the animal would be stunned by another trap thrown by someone else, or something. So, there isn't a single trap that I use more. I can say there is one I wish made more than 2 per batch. I cannot recall the name of the trap (I'm not at home), but it requires an inorganic chemical component and it works well. When I finally get a factory, I'm going to output crates of all the traps. Maybe vend them out of my secondary house.

Just got to ask, as I always do... as Scouts and Rangers are the only ones who can use the stuff, and we all can harvest most of the materials to make them, what market is there? The only parts we can't harvest are the metal and the poly, and I for one have harvestors for that stuff. I think at best there is a minor market for the truly lazy among us. I am proudly truly lazy, and even I would not buy traps that I can make.

Just a thought.

Oh yeah, pdarts and glow wire, once in a while ad mesh, sometimes sonic pulses.

Actually I would buy adhesive mesh traps, if they were in crates (and reasonably priced of course). I'm getting tired of crafting an item that only gets 2 uses.

i use mainly the traps that have them most in each stack, namely: sharp bone spurs, sonic pulses, glow juice, and phec. darts. Drag em up to the F5-F8 keys, and go to the imp oasis and hit mountian squills with em. 500+ xp per trap x 4 traps= 2000+ xp. Nice way to grind xp, plus, when u kill it, u get 70+ hides to sell.

Even though one could make one's own traps, many folks would gladly buy crates of wire mesh or glow juice traps, if only just to grind trap xp with them. U make more xp from crafting camps than traps so many budding BH's would or holo-rangers/BH's would rather just buy traps to grind xp with than make them themselves.

i been using phen darts/glow wire when soloing and glow wire/flashbombs when in a group. I just picked up trapping 3 in the ranger line so i havent had a chance to use sonic pulses. I agree i would use adhesive mesh more often but i find that it rarely ever hits for me, that and the fact you only get 2 uses out of it.

My long time hunting partner is a TKA/ Doctor/ CH

before we go into combat, I start with the wire mesh so she can pummel them into the ground, followed by a glow wire, phenacine, sharp bone spur and a sonic pulse. This 5 trap combo allows both of us to whittle any critter into the ground. Then as a pistoleer, i whomp on them with stopping shots, bleeds, and my pre-nerf guns. (FWG5 max dmg. 311 spd. 1.4 by Tinuviel....Shameless Plug)

the adhesive mesh i only use while soloing, when chased by rancors, etc... a lot of people really dont use traps except for the xp, I however use them as part of my tactics and cannot wait to use them on the immune CH pets...soon they will fear my traps...oh yeah...i want my traps to work on people too

Primarily Adhesive Mesh - some Sonic Pulse and Phencanine Darts

Noticed that on tough mobs the Adhesive Mesh works best for me, although I wish the count per craft was higher than 2.

Haha! Dude, that's great. I'm the exact same way. I actually will plan, from time to time, the trap to current resouces to see how I can most accurately use up all resources.....Whew, glad I'm not the only one

Oh, BTW, I use Phens and Glow Juice as I solo most of the time.

After mastering Ranger I have mainly used sonic pulse and stink bomb.

I like the reduced defense vs. stat attacks from the stinkbomb. Working up the TK tree it is nice to have warcry/intimidate stick a lot more often.

Prior to master I used every trap I could make. Stick the creature with an adhesive mesh and then hit it with traps continuously until I got board. Would get about 5K of trapping exp / Sharhaff bull.

Adhesive Mesh occasionally, Phec Darts very often. There are other traps?

I'm surprised people say they use the Ranger traps -- the last time I checked, they had no effect whatsoever, except to draw mass agro. The other Scout traps seem to have minimal effect at best. Mobs seem to pretty much ignore states, and any damage is negligible.

As for what I would pay for traps, I wouldn't. I own a factory and make crates of the camps and traps I use.
