OK, scrub the earlier reply, here's something more useful.
I just took a toon, CL50's Ranger, up to Dath, walked out to Rancor Alley and waited for some beasties to spawn.
Maskscent, walked to within 50m of some CL80+ Enraged Rancors. Just a little pod of three, standing around grooming themselves, scratching their butts. Yah know, typical Saturday night stuff for your rancor.
Got scout XP, only about 300pts tho, then went prone, crawled in a bit closer. Bottled it at 25m but got checked twice again and got XP twice again.
Slightly distracted by some chatter in my chat bar, didn't notice maskscent wear off, but it was pretty obvious from the behaviour of the rancor. They started to behave in an agitated fashion, looking around, walking a few steps in one direction then the other. I waited to see what would happen.
Well, we all know what happened, I was spotted and stomped on and made the short trip to the cloner.
Did something similar on Yavin and Lok, got v similar results, except kept a better eye on the maskscent status and reapplied it while the critters were doing their "hmm, what could that smell be..." routine. Not a sausage on critters CL50 and below tho, and the quenkers and voritors were just as happy to aggro on me when they conned greay and I had maskscent up.
