I think most of what you asked has been covered but I agree. Look for us out in the fields, not in the cities. I spend maybe 5% of my time in an actual city. If you are having withdrawal symptoms from lack of Rangerific love, use the Profession search and send a random Ranger a tell. I'm sure he'd love to give you a /hug.

I think that there will be a drop in players becoming rangers when JTL comes out, simply because they will be rushing to space professions instead of land professions. That said, I agree with the earlier post that said that people will not be dropping Ranger because space professions will not conflict with current ones.

I don't think that Rangers need to be transformed into fighters, but that is my opinion and I'm sure others would disagree. As a ranger myself, I see my role as being one of bringing death and destruction upon Bambi and all of his furry compatriots. I would have become a TKM/Doctor if I wanted to spend my time headbutting "1337" kids in PvP. In all seriousness, I think that Rangers are veryvaluable to the community within their current role. I find that the number of people in need of a Ranger currently is greater than the number of Rangers. I am flooded with requests to track Black Sun, track Krayts, collect hides, collect meat, etc... Although giving Rangers some combat role would increase the number of rangers, it would divert Rangers from their primary task which is to help the community keep down the creature population. And I kinda like being one of a select few.

I'm in a city long enough to get a buff, physical & mindthen I am off looking for the next harvest... seldom grouped as it negatively impacts the yield from a harvest... I think you'd find most of your rangers are loaners... I have a few ranger friends and that's who I talk to the most in /tell as we are about and hunting our respected prey... as for disappearing when JTL comes out.. NEVER I love this profession... walking up to a red mob concealedand taking my time to get the right position/weapon to complete the task... headshotIII or conceal shot depending on the mob...

i know that everyone has thrown in their $0.02, but i want to /agree with people -- rangers don't spend much time in cities & it is hard to find us out alone in the wild.

that being said, some of the best RP (& i know that this is not what the thread is about... hijack xp?) i have had has been running into other people with a low level ranger tag up while waiting for ships (seeing as about all i see of cities, besides my PA city... Azaki, on Talus, the *best* looking city on all of Corbantis... is the starport) & talking shop in spatial chatin the presence of5-10 other non-ranger classes. it somehow feels *real* old school l33t to talk about ranger issues around the "flavor of the month uber classes"

'cos we are just that hard core...

actually, i want to acknowledge one particular Corbantis ranger-in-training who i had a wonderful RP discussion with about jabba faction & about the mechanics & locationof the jabba themepark. i do not remember her name, but she was *awesome*.
