Congrats on the job! I hope you can find the balance between the rowdy ranger community and the rascally dev community.

Your first order of business is to help keep reasonable prerequisites for the new rangers.

Your second order is, if you have a character on Bria, contact my Master Tailor character RoseAnya and she will provide you with a lifetime supply of hotpants. All colors (P.S. I hope you're not a wookiee or the deal is off).

Congrats Agon

As far as what was said above about updating the stickies, I agree. I'm going to abandon the Ranger by galaxy List and Ranger for Hire list though. These would be better suited in the Scout forums I think. I'll have to debate whether I want to do them there. Wouldn't be as much upkeep so maybe I will. hmmm....

You're probably right Deadtech, (it's kinda sad to see one of our staples go) however, if things remain the way they are, they would be more appropriate there.

let us know what you plan on doing (i am still seriously leaning towards keeping master scout, since i still want to be a hunter-type) therefore, those people who still keep a lot of scout skills would be able to have a source of monkey.

Really if I did start up another list it would only be for master scouts. Too many professions have it as a pre req that it wouldn't feel right to me. I'm keeping master scout on my TC character because I want to always be reminded of how being a Ranger used to be once it gets changed. There already is a scout for hire list on there that gets updated on occasion but my list would be just for master scouts. I'll shoot this by Paks and see if she'd want to sticky it.

Greetings and Congratulations AgonThalia.

I hope you enjoy your time as Ranger Correspondant.
Here are my token-questions about our revamp:
Traps:
- Can we drop traps while we are in combat?
- Can we drop traps while we are invisible?
- If we can drop traps while we are invisible, will they be invisible too?

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

I think that the answer to your last question Dave is that you need to use a special skill, called Conceal Device, to make the traps invisible.

"Conceal Device: (Camouflage Skill Mod) This skill does not require camouflage kit. It allows the ranger to hide an anti-personnel trap or motion sensor. Concealed devices are only visible by the Ranger who placed them.

Traps can be placed on the ground and are visible to everyone (unless they are concealed using the Conceal Device skill).

Concealed devices can be detected and disarmed with the Detect Camouflage and Disarm Device skills from the Pursuit & Countermeasures skill line."

But it may look different by the time it goes to TC.

Well, what I was wondering, was that if we are in stealth, are we prevented from laying them (and thus would need to reveal ourselves). Although if we could lay traps while in stealth (invisible), but then the trap would be visible as soon as it's laid, it'd rather give us away.

I knew about the /concealdevice command to cloak a trap after it has been laid, but as you'll see from the situations I just outlined, there's the potential for these things to be quite limited in application, hence my questions.

As a seperate matter, I think being able to lay them on the fly during a fight is quite important too.
