JonSee, I'd like to add here that although (obviously) I disagreed with a number of your points, I thought that whoever rated your initial post one star was being extremely petty. I gave it a four, myself. Whoever gave him the low rating, you give posts one star because they're childish, pointless, or unconstructive, not because you happen to disagree with them.

As for the graphical end and the interface. Yeah, I agree. Some spicing up would be nice. They'll have to work out the bugs in higher density areas, I agree. But I wouldn't call the skill totally useless. I'm running an explorer mission using just /areatrack and I've been pleased with the results so far. When /track is implemented in the future, these two skills will go together nicely I think. Perfect, no. Usable, sure.

So far /areascan has worked "ok" for me.

I wasn't expecting much from it as we are intended to get a more usefull /track ability in the future.

Areascan has sent me on a couple wild goose chases so far (as well as the odd creatures and people at -1m away!), but it has also worked on occasion and led me exactly to what I was searching for...

I feel that with some minor adjustments, this will be a usefull skill within the week.

I would beg the devs to remove vendors from the scan list as well as only account for so many creatures within a designated area. 10 listings of "a kreetle is 129m away" is pretty annoying considering the 50 item limit.

I am far more disappointed with the /conceal ability and camo kits.

Oh...I forgot to mention in the last post. /areascan works based on the direction your avatar is facing in the game, not the compass. So if a creature is labeled as S, it is S from the direction you are facing (which is considered N for your avatar at that time), not the south actual south indicator on the compass. Make sense?

Another example: You are facing NW. You do /areascan. There is a creature you want to hunt to the south. You would turn around and go SE according to the compass.

I also tried the skill on Lok, and luckily got more variety in the results than you. I also found the 50 cap a hindrance when tracking in cities and near large density of nests, but on the wilderness of Yavin it gave me a sense of what direction to take to avoid very hostile aggros since maskscent now breaks more easily and I was in the middle of nowhere when I logged off last night.

This is maybe a minor aesthetic issue, but I find the icon given to areatrack very annoying. Was it so hard to make some foot, paw, or series of them to symbolize the new skill?

Youv'e gotta be kidding! I guess if you want an accurate track. you have to face north first.

If this could be hotfixed in, it may go a long way in lessoning the confusion: formatting such that for a given direction listed have the count of each creature of similar name in the line (condense the listing), not a line for each creature. Just this one thing would inmprove the utility 50%.
