I feel like a ranger but Iagree it could be better especially in PvP. If they would make it so we didn't show on radar when using a camo kit that would go a long way in making us a little more like rangers and give us the boost we need to be effective in PvP. I have a couple outfits that when I am on Corellia or Naboo and go prone I am nearly impossible to see unless you are almost on top of me. If there is a bush or other deep cover I can could disappear entirely.

Just think if they gave us that kind of ability it would go a long way to making this a great profession.

ya know, i was sitting in a camp in Theed grinding out camping xp (while eating a tasty sandwitch and reading the newest book by Anne Rice by the light of my sunset view on my monitor thank you!) and a master ranger comes up and we start talking. We both commented on how cool players who are rangers are, and so far have not met anyone who is a jerk. My wife even asked me why i grind out the whole camping thing: "because i cant see a sunset like the one on Naboo unless i spend a bunch of money to fly to Hawaii"

This is why I like the game, I explore, see the sites and every weekday when i go to work, i tell my co-workers about the great time I had on Dathomir, Lok or Endor. They look at me like I'm crazy, but i feel like I just got back from Vacation!

My non-ranger friends don't always understand my adventures, but that's part of being a ranger.

Bring up the planetary map, pick a spot I want to visit and start running. No waypoints, not necessarily any particular reason to go there except just to see. There's an interesting bend in the river, or a crater I haven't seen before and I head out.

The bounty hunters might be all out in PvP, the commandos roasting up somebody, butpart of my jobis just to go see things I haven't seen before.

I picked out ranger before I even began playing just for the independence and the exploration.

I pretty much did the same as Mastub above, I knew from day one, after waiting for the servers to arise from the ashes... That I definetly needed to be a Ranger. I'm almost to Master and still rarely keep track of my XP.

As of late, since I've been forced to 256 RAM, lag in cities is horrible and taking a shuttle takes 5 minutes in travel. So, I just walk to the location I want, can't beat what you might just see. I've found a couple of new routes as well as bigger bases out in the middle of nowhere than anywhere else.

Not to mention the random shops out there, always interesting walking accross those. Or even for a minor CH like myself, jumping for joy when I found my first Grand Wrix baby. Nothing like a new route to make you know your planet better.

I feel a lot like a Ranger, and sitting around my campfire outside of town reminded me of how good it is to be a Ranger. Since no matter my location, I can drop down a camp, and people might just stop by to chat.. and if they don't, I can find me a river and fish my night away. Feeling like a Ranger is knowing your the best, but not needing to cry nerf. Since, in the wilds of the Galaxy, no one can hear you scream..

I admit that until recently, I didn't. Then I hit upon the problem, I had picked a rather un-Ranger-like sidearm. Nothing to do with Ranger, I had just tried to optimize for efficiency instead of fun...

A pistol works wonders in some situations, but it is a bit undignified, really, as a hunting weapon... too much running and gunning, not enough strategy, really.

Picking up rifle, and though it is difficult and has a fair set of drawbacks, it just... feels better. I would love it if my traps worked (has anyone ever seen the ranger traps do anything?) or if my camps didn't evaporate so quickly, but in the end, I have forgotten how anyone could even get by without conceal and maskscent, much less areatrack...

lol, when i started my 2nd account, i went from from master dancer/almost master BE to create a TKA/Pistoleer. when trying to power level myself, i saw how much imissed the tracking ability. thinking of cancelling that account now, not enough time to play both and i do enjoy the feeling of being a ranger/rifleman.

the rangerclass has alot of room for improvement but if you close one eye and not think about PvP, you reallydo feel like a hunter. In PvP, if someone pulls a sudden kill on me when im not expecting it, i can track him down and return the favour in kind heh heh
