Thread: Can I even consider dropping novice medic?
I personally do Master Ranger/Master Rifleman/Marksman 4/0/0/4. The trick is to never get hit (well, almost never). If an attacking creature ever gets within 5m of me, I'll probably be dead. But they almost never do. Warning Shot and Suppression Fire work wonderfully at keeping enemies away and the Rifle Concealment Chance lets you single pull every time. You can run into a bit of trouble with NPCs (they like to shoot) but I usually don't have enough mind left to stim myself anyway. But a dizzy/suppression fire combo has a chance to knock them down. Again, it mainly depends on your playstyle. I wander around with no armor, 600/500/400 600/750/500 950/600/500 HAMs, and usually use a Laser Rifle (as they cost a lot less than a T21 and work well enough for most stuff). And I rarely die (or even get hit).

heh, i gotta agree with almost everyone here on keeping novice medic and losing ranged support.. you can either pick up /aim or any of the 1st tier medic skills, to boot...
oh, the best part i've found about having something like novice medic... 15 skill points, should you ever need them... lets say you really want to survey out something, costs you 100 creds to drop medic and switch to artisan for just a few hours, and 100 creds to get back the medic...
I never thought of that! What a great idea. I was torn as I did not want to lose novice medic, but still saw a need for mined resources. Thanks a lot.
Now, to get to a level where Ii can use this idea....
I have been asking my self that question.
If I dropped Medic I could become a Master Ranger, Master CH and pistoller 0/0/3/0.
I was all set to, but I just know that I would be gutted everytime I got incapped and lay there thinking DOH if only I could have used my stim b's then I would still be standing.
So, NO, i am not giving it up and my advice would be, NO don't give it up.
Once I get tired of rifle, if I do, I'll try Master Pikeman instead.
