Thread: Rangers On TC

I for one, know this very well. I spent August-Jan/Feb solely on TC. I loved the community (friendly as heck for the most part) and I've spent a goodly time doing bug checks. It was my great pleasure the other night to happen upon TC while my guildmates (they never kicked me out lol) were testing the new doc stims. Thankfully, I got the chance to help test and it felt great. Pretty much what Iammergeier said goes though.

However, I've gotta say...he' preaching to the choir here. We're not l33t by any sense of the word. "Hey TC dude, I harvested XuPer amounts of hide. What now?" lol. I just imagine a Ranger using anything like l33t speak (except in jest of the people that do, of course)

Anyway, TC is full of people that are great, but as I know from my time there, lots of people from Live servers have toons there too. They use them everytime a new cool feature comes out- Mounts, Speederbikes. and they complain that the locals won't just give them a speederbike. Every one of them was grinding artisan just to get to be able to make the speeders themselves. It was pretty funny to watch people fight with each other over who trained who and whatnot. Nobody was letting anybody train unless they got to train something else. It was a mad dash on App. XP by the thousands of people who were there just to ride a speeder. It was hilarious.

In the end, the devs wised up and put a free bike terminal in some cities. This was nice...until the freaking visitors would take a vehicle out, put it away, and repeat until the vehicle was destroyed....and then leave it out. In a couple cities, you couldn't find the vehicle vendor due to all the freaking bikes around. It caused a LOT of lag.

This is one of the reasons I LEFT TC. Not because of the people who were there all the time..but because I knew at least on LIVE, people would ignore me for the most part. I was tired of getting tells begging me to drop all of my skills to let this person train me over and over and promising me...nothing. He just wanted me to give up all the work I had done...out of the goodness of my heart. LOL.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Tell ya what, after I get Jokito up to Novice Ranger status on Wanderhome, I'll come join the fun on TC. I have actually been thinking about TC since I started playing, I did it in EQ, but wasn't sure I wanted to commit myself to it here.

But the bright lights seem to be calling my name, so look out TC here comes another Ranger candidate!

gota few comments for ya Iammergeier

Been on TC for7 months already. You guys are really helpful, but I have actually had more fun just leveling with the tight little groupfrom WE from Wanderhome then you guys . TCPA is cool, however, we have had RIN for some time on Eclipse so I'm sure it will get ported to TCbut NOTHING beats the communal Teamspeak server . We will pop in for trainingthe army of slaves at our command if no one from our group has the skills (unless they revolt)

Don't need to beg. Old pro at generating cash ANDI got 4 mouths to feed now . The group already here has designed toons to support each other... I bet you guys will be buying from us in a few months

Phenix once asked about making AR on TC but there seemed to be too few of us to do that. Maybe that will change? Make Calc run it tho one guild is enough for me

Don't worry, most of us are old pros. Emphisis on old. We are a tad bored at ruling all from sea to seain our main servers and want a peek at the stuff comming (not to mention developing stratagies for maintaining the ability to rule from sea to sea). I personally want to look at other profs without dropping Ranger on my main.

Besides, radioactive sampling incap as a Mon Cal is just too much fun (ooops, that was supposed to be a secret... I'll shut up now )

Dont worry Zaw, you'll find that, by definition, Rangers are the self-sufficient type. And most of us have played on TC for quite some time, we may even be the notable Rangers you are thinking of.

I find myself rather ruffled by your post... have you run into any new Rangers from the forum who have been begging or griefing or something? Why the accusatory tone? You won't find many power gamers here. At least not until Ranger becomes uber and they all rush TC to try it out.

I think that is a 'form' post to try to stop the problems before they start, and it is not directed at Rangers in particular.

And we all pretty much chat join RIN so we won't be dead to anyone.

And Phen, Kekk is also a female wookiee, so you can hit on us both!

Remember that female avatar does NOT necessarily mean female player .

it actually wasn't a form post, but I usually save the ranger forum for last, meaning that the other profession forums sometimes warp my addled brain.

every ranger I've had the pleasure to meet has been nothing but polite, helpful, and knowledgeable, on ANY server. I read the ranger forum as much for a bit of peace as much as I read it for information about the profession.

TC has been seeing an influx of players who are hellbent on shenanigans, and the community is still in some ways recovering from the TC2-Bria disruptions. while some of my tone was from frustration with the state of the other forums, most of it was likely due to a few TC immigrants who have left their own mark, hopefully not indelible, on my TC play.

my apologies to you all.

Get to know us before you flame us

Seriously though. I've played on TC a fair bit, really like the majority of players there (the regulars) and can understand everyone getting a bit bent out of shape when there's an influx of gonks.

Good thing about them is they find out pretty fast that there are no 'free lunches' on TC and go off back to whatever server they usually raise merry hell on. OR they learn a bit about the game, after a talking down or some helpful but firm advice, and go on to become a good TC regular.

I think you'll find that the happy, friendly rangers will be a useful addition to the flavour of TC. Remember, a number of us are starting completly new toons there, working them up to Ranger as quickly and efficiently as possible. We're not going to achieve that without the assistance of regular TC players ( for training, etc) and likewise, the Rangers off this board are probably among the least likely to beg, spam or mess things up for folk as that would bring our chosen lifestyle into disrepute.

Remember to pop into one of our HTFB's if you're passing.
