Thread: TC Ranger Grinding Groups?
Thanks for all the feedback guys. It took me nearly an hour to download all the patches last night, since I haven't been on TC in months, so I only had about an hour to play, and ground (grinded?) solo up to a whoping CL3! Then I ran out of creds and logged. I'm not a total TC noob, I had ground up to Novice DE back before JTL, but that's about it. So I've got lots of harvesters, and resources but no cash. What's my best bet for gaining some quick creds for equipment on TC? I'm not really looking for a handout, just some advice. On Live, I could just sell my resources on the C-net bizarre, and be up to 100K pretty quick, but here I'm not sure that works as well. Grinding CL3 missions gets me about 2-5K an hour, which is pretty slow. I figure I could grind in space and sell the loot, but I don't really enjoy space much, so was looking for other options.
I've never re-spec'd on TC, so maybe my best bet would be to keep grinding Artisan with the resources on hand and /respec to a decent CL level? I don't really want to burden a group with my low level until I'm up to around CL10 or so.
I'll be on fairly late tonight PST, and I'll look for all those who spoke out here. Thanks again.

Not sure what kind of pilot you are, but I realized last night that SOME of how I'd make credits on a live sever doesn't seem like it'll be quite so useful on TC - and then thought "Gee, I'm a pretty passable pilot, I'll bet I can level up a couple tiers and then run duty missions and just sell loot to get credits fast". And by George, it worked smashingly!

Sadly I'm a pretty awful pilot. Still only Novice on Live. I'm capped on XP, but couldn't finish the last mission for Level I, though admittedly I only tried once. I just don't seem to enjoy space much, so always seem to have something else I'd rather do. Still, I can usually get close to 50K an hour in loot even with my novice ship, so I guess that might be the way to go.
I used to earn 'quick' credits doing the recon missions off the Explorer terminals, would do them till I had 10 or 15k... Pilot is WAY more profitable. If you can haul 50k in then that'll go a long way on TC. The economy there isn't as bloated as some Live servers have become, for one thing. (Picked up a new ALR, box of PuPs, pile of StimD and some other kit today, stillhad change out of 10k. Also spotted some tasty recon armour at 150k a suit.... working towards that over next week).
For training, don't forget to holler in RIN/LoR guildchat, or to ask nice on tcpa. I've had folk drop what they're doing and log another toon to come train me, which, compared to the "sod off n00b" attitude on *some* servers is really refreshing. And very appreciated.
Oh, and open offer to all our grinding Rangers, 'ken is Master Pistols, Ozie is Ranger/Rifleman (should have Master "soon"
When I was flying heavily I was knocking out a squadron every 3-4 days just using the stuff I looted while flying.
From selling the junk I avaraged about 250K per bag of 50 looted items. A credit chip about 350-450Kish.
