I've decided to keep MRanger, but am curious as to how effective the different weapons are with only the requirements for MBH and not having master marksman.

Lol...I am going to respec back into Ranger . I hope that they either fix the Ranger Respec problem, or give us our previously banked respec points (I had a full template and 38 respec points left over thanks to a little Architect grinding).

Well, I could give you the long list, but I'd probably get reported for "trolling" (again).

Mainly, you will be slower and less accurate. I hear that with trapping, it doesn't really matter.

Sorry to be so needy, but would it be worth it to trade MRifles for MBH if my goal is to be more balanced between NPCs and creatures?

My opinion is 'sure.' Of course, I am going to respec from Rifleman to MBH as soon as I can today, so I am a bit biased. After the CU went live, I went right for MBH and liked it. I was a fool to take rifles instead.

Smuggler's "Feign Death" is something we should have against creatures. I call it "play possum."

It is very useful when dealing with creatures that fight in swarms.

Dunno what am going to do with my main but I tweaked one of my 'spare' toons (previously MR/MB) to:

Scout 4314
BH 0044
Pistoleer 0404
Smuggler 0004
SL 0404

Which gives the frankly disgusting loadout:

accuracy 237
melee def 205
ranged def 246

Which is great against critters with a little trap help but, due to a speed of only 64, is a wee bit low DPS-wise. I've never hunted for resources with that particualr toon preferring to use it to do theme-parks and start stocking a little Kashyyyk museum.

Right, time to get a mug of tea and decide what's happening to ken'

My concernwould be what happensafter certains trap(s) get "fixed", and -Root- is "adjusted".

MRanger/TKM for life, didn't need a respect (except to add swords for tkm) before and don't need another one.

I took the plunge and swapped MRifles for MBH and the Carbines line in Marksman. Kept all the MRanger though. I was doing the Jevan Monsul quest and while I was fighting some pretty low CL Black Suns, I liked the ability to knockdown, dizzy, blind and the Duelist's Stance is sweet. I was using the Proton Carbine I got on the Ryatt Trail and it was hitting as hard as the marginal T-21 I had been using.
