Might be time to take a break since it sounds like you been playing to long.
Or maybe I need to finish rifleman. I started working on that last August. I have two boxes to go. I keep getting distracted. LOL

Man I just ignore these posts but useless forum? Useless profession?
Go back, put your comp on and go bash stuff.
And what's so useless about the profession? Being a ranger is an honour reserved for those who don't grade their importance and value by the percentages on their armour, the credits in their bank account and the items that they own. Being a ranger is being within a collective of people who do it because it fits with our vision of our characters and our immersion in the game. Being a ranger is being a member of a profession continually considered useless, and yet we get a continuous stream of /tells and mails asking us for our services.
What's the use in being a doctor? You heal things.
What's the use in being a combat profession? You kill things.
What's the use in being a crafter? You make things.
What's the use in being a ranger?
When you're exploring the wilderness of Dathomir and walk casually past a group of Rancors.
When you see the red dots on Yavin and you spend three hours wandering around without killing or agroeing a thing.
When you spend weeks on end tracking down the Gorax and when you find it... you capture the moment, then leave the creature be and move away.
When you see hordes of composite clones zipping about on speeders when you're on foot and unarmoured.
When you (respect to our senior rangers) go hunting without buffs and use the knowledge you have gained to do so.
When you see a character in trouble and use /rescue and draw the foe away.
When you just put a camp up and chill for a while, chatting to people that go past.
What's the use of a ranger? It's a real profession. It's more real than any other profession in the game. It's a profession without the onus on statistics, or machismo, or arrogance.
You're mistaken belief is in valueing this profession based on it's skills. It's value is in the people behind the keyboard. It's the most valuable collection of people in the game.
I just deleted my rant now, and I'd just ask you to reconsider and reflect on your opinion of this profession. I am quite sure though, that on more than one occassion, having a Ranger come on by in your travels, will be a welcome, and wonderful addition.
I can go a week before I make that much. I hate doing terminal missions. Maybe once I get higher in Rifleman, I'll make more from selling resources.

oooh, hark at her!
OK, so maybe folk could be a little more politic when a trade post creeps in, but we do get a few. And some of them are reallly snotty brats who just have to go the extra distance in being offensive when we say "thanks but no thanks, try the galaxy trade fora".
"Thanks for offering this here, I'm sorry, but a /rescue AA is of very little use to most rangers.
It's like offering a -10 to Dance Healing or -10 AS Crafting skill tape. Might have the big number htat usually des mean it's useful, but, inthis case, it's tat.
As a former Ranger you'll know how rarely /rescue is used and, when it is, it is merely a way of attracting an aggressive MoB from one player onto you. Or committing suicide. It's like offering a -10 to Dance Healing or -10 AS Crafting skill tape. Might have the big number that usually does mean it's useful, but, in this case, it's tat"
Good luck and Travel Well.
