yes, concealing AFK people who are autofighting the mobs around big cities is griefing
I still think this is debatable. Concealing someone is a helpful action. If they are not in combat at the time, which they can't be in order to conceal them, then you are only trying to help a brother out. If someone is AFK when they get attacked and they are getting their butt handed to them, is it griefing to help them by killing what is attacking them? All I'm doing is protecting people who are AFK. It's a service. It's a service that could be charged for in some areas. It's a helpful, protective service. I don't see it as griefing.

Well, that is a gross twisting of the reality behind concealing AFK people and you know it.

Not going to get into the whole AFK is bad / oh no it's not argument, but... how do you know the buffbot IS AFK?

I always send tells to the ents, until I find one that responds. If there are several AFKers, I will give a nice tip to the one that is actually responding.

I do not pretend to know whether it is griefing or not, but I understand the dilemma of the entertainers.

Consider this: What if all the doctors, armorsmiths, chefs, and bio-engineers who buy our meats instead could use an AFK bot who somehow managed to harvest the same amount as we master rangers with no effort? Imagine further that the ranger bot usually gave his meats away for free, completely destroying a market opportunity for at-the-keyboard rangers? That is a preposterous scenario for us, but it is the situation musicians and dancers face.

At the same time, even if the ranger bot could actually exist, there are those of us who would obviously still be rangers. Similarly, I sympathize with the entertainers but assume that as bad as it is, the ability to buff is not the main reason they do what they do anymore than selling meats is the reason we do what we do. Until something more is done, take heart and enjoy all of the real entertainment that bots cannot possibly offer, and know that mind buffing is only a small fraction of what you real entertainers offer us, and many of us are more thankful for a good show and pleasant conversation than for temporary stat boosts.
