Yes i purchased a +14 harvesting droid when i was still novice scout, it worked wonders, untill i was near novice ranger. then i was harvesting more than my droid. At that time, i swore i would never use a droid again....

then i recently bought a +106 harvesting droid, i have since noticed that my droid harvests more than me. I was very pleased at this. Now its all i use.

And yes, i never group with my droid. i use the follow cammand, and it just follows me around.

- The droids abilities amplify your own. A Ranger using a +90 Droid will harvest more than a Scout using a +90 droid

- Veghash DOES affect droid performance

- Even low level droids (70 and above is what I have found) will harvest more than a Master Ranger. Why? I have no idea. But that's the truth. Test it yourself.

- At a point te level of droid stops increasing the harvest. I am not sure where this boundry is, but I have used and replaced a good many droids. I have used everything from a +117 Harvest droid to a +50ish harvest droid, and they all seem to gather about the same over +70.

I usually try to get a combat module installed, but on High level mobs I find it means he gets blown up. LOL. I like the trapping idea, and I routinely do not group the droid, instead having him on follow. It definitely takes some getting used to. You have to change your tactics slightly, and you have to be situationally aware of your droid. But overall it becomes second nature after a while. I once tested back to back mission Rancor lairs 6 times. 3 with the droid, three without. These were mission lairs, so there was the standard number of waves each time.

Overall at the end, I harvested 20% more with the droid. This has to do with a number of factors...one being that even as a master rifleman it takes a while to take out a bunch of Rancors. If you get aggroed by neighboring wild spawns, it can be a good long time before you get to harvesting. With the droid you can harvest everything no problem. Before droids, I would always miss a few harvests on high-end wild spawns simply because of the number of mobs they spawn. With a droid, I can go after the wild Rancor spawns without a worry of missing one or two before I am done. The droid goes to work in the background as I kill away.

Personally, I was opposed to the idea of a droid at first. In fact I only pull it out on certain planets because pulling it out for every spawn when you have to bike to get to them is tedious. On planets like Dath, Yavin, Endor, etc.....the droid stays out all the time because I usually dont use a bike at all. But on Talus? Where I have to go 1500m or more each time to get another sludge panther spawn? Well, forget the droid. I can harvest more by biking and doing it the old fashioned way, than by walking with the droid out or waiting the 15 seconds for it to call .

Just my 32 cents.

Jesus...didnt realize I wrote that much. Didnt check for spelling either, so I apologize ahead of time.

Just to add my bit of knowledge regarding droids into this.

I don't know exactly how a droids harvesting bonus translates into an actual increaseon of what you harvest, but what I do know is this....

A droid with +50 will harvest exactly the same as you wil harvest by yourself (regardless of your harvesting skill). If the droid's harvesting bonus is below 50, then the droid will harvest less than you. If the droid's bonus is greater than 50, then the droid will harvest more than you.

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?
