I'm listed in the phonebook as "Mr. Wonderful"
That's a pretty good advertisement in and of itself.

For the past 6 months I've logged on, and searched for Master Doc, Master Bio-Eng and Master Artisan and made lists of who is online playing.
When I kill and harvest I send out an email to the list of who I think can use it and pay for it.
I have become very good at finding things for other people. LIke Jedi looking for a Marauder or a Raptor. Like a Wish-I-Was-Glowy seeking the Wild Bladeback Boar.
People talk to other people in this game. Word gets around about success and failure.
Words from one mouth to another's ear is golden to Rangers. If your name is not the one traveling lightly from mouth to ear, you don't exist.
That is how we advertise.

I've considered doing that search and spam method but I thought i'd get a bad rap from people for sending emails like that out. But if it works for you, maybe i'll try. My Ranger is located on Infinity and I'm not aware of any "resource lists" that I could subscribe to. I have done a few "tracking missions" for people but they were all in my guild so I wasn't expecting much of payout/any. Thx for the insights people!

I don't advertise my services, and I'll probably turn down more jobs than I take on.
In the early days, I worked really hard to impress a few key crafters on my server, then I was fortunate enough for loyalty andword of mouth to do the rest. Add to this, I mentored a few rangers, and we have then tried to pass business each other's way.
Several months on, I'm a rich wookiee with a good reputation.

Try and find an established all ranger guild if you don't already have one (like the Antarian Rangers for instance if there is one on your server) some of those rangers normally share out anyorders for certain meat they may get.
As an aside. It depends on your style of play, but i don't go for getting certain amounts (like 20k or 50k) of organic resources for clients, coz i can't play that often. I prefer the flat rate for whatever you can get type of orders.

/agree. Yeah me too, i often have to turn work away. Just hanging around in Cnet or Theed is enough to get a few /tells normally specially if your a MR.

Hey, if you're on Chilastra, I'd help advertise for you. I'm managing a "yellow pages" sort of directory for the server, and am currently doing all advertising for FREE. So if you want to give it a try, feel free to contact me. That's Palacek Flanigan on Chilastra.

The things I do or have thought of doing but not got around to...
All of my houses have signage that make it clear I'm available for hire. I basically have my name followed by "Ranger Services"
Add a few lines in my character bio
Get to know other Rangers... particularly good if you have an Antarian Ranger guild on your server or one of the RIN chat channels.
Get to know a few key crafters and develop the relationship. Put yourself out for them early on and develop a good reputation. Word of mouth always helps.
Sell some resources of good quality (in small amounts) on the bazaar, and use the description to advertise your services.... "there's more where that came from"
Prepare a couple of standard mails that give answers to people who query whether you are available. Set out what you will and won't do and how much you charge... particularly useful for tracking requests.

Just setting my title to a ranger one got a lot of traffic (I used "Wayfarer" until I mastered because it's a seldom-used title, so people who searched for rangers were intrigued by it).
I check the galaxy trade forum here for requests. When I drop off things to vendors, I put a little note in the description and follow that up with an e-mail. Simple business strategy - treat the customer nicely so that you are remembered.

I'll throw some resources up on a busy bazaar like Theed or Coronet. Then when someone makes
a purchase I send an email to them thanking them for said purchase and ask them if they ever need
any otherresources I'm a Master Ranger and available for hire. Works pretty well most of the time and I tend to have a couple of contracts going from that.
