There is a reasoning for this post. Agon (a.k.a Draknev) is my RL best friend and he was at my house yesterday hanging out. We were looking over the forums and we were discussing the differrence between the professions. He told me about how great this forum was (and he is right) and how JBmat absolutley despises BHs. Well, just to have a little fun I posted this to set the trap. And I can see that it was sprung. Trust me JB, Im glad they got rid of the Master Scout requirement...it served no purpose what so ever for the BH proff.
but the really messed up thing was that agon asked me to log off so he could log in just to flame me, with me over his shoulder..(and my wife even made dinner for him...some friend). And i actually suggested the tracking droid thing in his post (he wanted to say flashlight....how weak).
Anyways, no hard feelings JB....Agon made me......blame him.

I mastered BH on TC.
the REAL TC.
the REAL way (admittedly, we have: vehicles, double xp, 5 minute (now 1 minute) shuttle waits, and JTL). I offer my apologies to those that came before me, if only for the doubled xp from the year-or-more old days.
I've already got a full set of TC toons twice over, and the community needed a MBH to test various new code.
I've been a ranger for a long time. my BH isn't a ranger. my combat goons aren't rangers. my BioE/CH IS a ranger. my merchant/ID isn't a ranger.
me? I'm a ranger, though skill points don't always reflect that. I'm one of the fools that pounded rori for "new static spawns." I moved to TC to get closer to (yet always a step or five too far away) the real code of the game.
what makes a ranger? my opinion: it's about problem solving. it's not limited to the profession. it tends to expose itself in a playstyle that favors diminished returns to investment, in favor of a few powerful abilities (/exa and tracking foremost, but also /mask and camoflage).
BH and ranger aren't antithetical... but they ARE opposing forces that are hard to reconcile. certain tamplates are cheaper, and therefore more viable (ranger/CH, and ranger/rifle among them), but the system allows for dabbling and such.
the problem is that we have posts like this for the sake of argument (and baited argument, at that), and the various forums are STILL repairing the damage of less-than-coherent and ill-advised posting.
some things are better left alone. no ranger can joke about the grind of investigation xp, nor any BH joke about the tedium of survival xp... unless they've done both. either camp of forum-ites has valid gripes that are best consoled in their respective forums, and not in another camp.

Is this a good time to add that I'm both a Master Ranger and (ahem) a BH too. (ducks)
Sure, it's probably not the best combination for either PvP or PvE since I need to have skill points invested in 2 Master starter profs. But I like role-playing, and the concept of finding and tracking animals and people appealed to me.
I wasn't around when you had to be Master Scout to be BH, so I've never known different. Seems to work OK for the most part for the rest of the galaxy, even though I'm working on the "old" template
