Good report, Nraas, keep up the good work. However,I doubt we will see any of this until after Player Cities go live and are completely unbugged.

LOL, at least we aren't as screwed as Squad Leaders. I'd hate to be in their shoes.

Regarding the Trap Launcher, I suggest it be able to fire the full range of a normal gun (64m) and benot limited to 60m. After all, this is goingto be something you have to buy from a weaponsmithand then wield? And for me at least, the farther I am away from something when I attempt to trap it, the better. Shoot for that extra 4m (pun intended)!

From what I heard about Combat Medic throws (which apparently work up to 80m), we might not be asking for enough either way.

I am a new Ranger on Radiant server and I have to say I very much enjoy being part of the great SWG Ranger community. I've been lurking for awhile, reading the forums, while working through scout to get to the elite profession and I must congratulate you NRaas on a job well done. This last status report and the batch of things we'd like looks well thought out.

The only thing that raised my eyebrows was the point about requesting that Ranger camps be experimented for "Ease of Use." As a support profession without any strong combat advantage (except for our traps perhaps)removing the Rangers' unique ability to provide superior camps would only seem to lower the demand for our services in the field. Yes, it could be a nice money-making avenue and a boon to scouts. But it ultimately couldlead togroups going into dangerous territories looking to someone like their BHs to set up camps rather than the masters of the wilds that we are. On the other hand, if it's supposed to be a minor change-- say one that makes us lowbie Rangers able to use HTFBs without giving them to people who haven't taken up Novice Ranger yet-- then I might be convinced to reconsider my opinion!

Well... It is a trade off indeed.

  • Being able to experiment a camp down for mundanes to use would open a huge market among the Creature Handlers and Droid users.

  • Conversely it would provide a base functionality available to scouts to everyone with enough money to purchase our supplies

For this to work though, experimenting "Ease of Use" would have to have an adverse effect on something...

  • Most likely the resulting camp would not have any healing ability or what not, giving a camp produced and used by a Scout added advantage.

State of a Dream profession....

My goodness, there are a lot of good ideas in there but man, that's an overload!

I give a major thumbs up to traps working on CH Pets!
