oh... and...shout outto all the paramilitary rangers... i don't give a rodent's rectum about PvP in general, but i do have a problem with limiting one profession to PvE where any profession devoted to PvP is also quite capable in PvE...
kago that is an incredibly good point!
Every PvP oriented template can do as much if not more damage than a Master Ranger can in "their territory." This has been discussed in the past.
Combat templates (even with just a bit of scout) can pull HUGE amounts of resources and have exceedingly better luck against big game.
A swordsman / TKM can solo a krayt with little trouble while we are hardpressed to aretrack one at times!
If Rangers are going to be limited in their PvP abilities shouldn't PvP professions (Commando / TKM / Bounty Hunter etc) be limited or at least at a disadvantage in PvE?
*before anyone thinks I'm calling for a NERF of all other professions ... I'm simply interested in pointing out the logical fallacy which kago put his finger on.

Never gonna happen.
I want to be better in a group, not hindered.

Changes like this or not, it'd be nice to see Ranger got some attention. Seriously, can you name one problem, major or minor, that hasn't existed since we got /areatrack?
Wait, there's one: they did fix camo kits to be a little easier to make...

WildBil... i can't believe you read through my entire rant just to find that at the end, heh... it really is a big deal, especially if they plan on limiting us to only a subset of PvE on top of that... all of your examples are great evidence to that point...
anyway, i probably wouldn't have posted here again, except that i just now recognized you as Wyndinn!.. i think everytime i've read one of your posts i saw your signature and something in my brain said "i know this cat"... but for some reason i have trouble linking the forum and the game... to think, we even live in the same town!...

Hell yeah, i cant agree more. Theres the gcw revamp, the combat revamp which all aim to make pvp the elder content of the game which will be fun and engaging. Limiting us to pve will only take us out of the end game and limit the impact the gcw revamp has on us, why would we want that?

I just got the ten-days-free email so I figured "what the heck"...I'm repatching now to take a look around.
But here, it looks like nothing has changed since I left in May. All the same issues, no solutions.

I hear what you are saying. And I am sick about it as well. There is few of use in the galaxy, and many of them were holo grinding. Now there are less since everyone is doing the quests like monkeys. I for one will not cave so quickly.
One thing I have always liked the sound of, was having a Ranger weapon, like a bow or the trank gun. I also liked the idea of allowing us to sell the stuff we make. Or making traps and camps more useful. I mean who the hell uses camps.
