What you need is to drop merchant, give away all the stuff that is weighing you down, and go be a ranger.
A merchant / ranger is schizophrenia 101.

Well then I must be a schizophrenic... but I've gotta say, I LOVE having a ranger vendor. It so much fun.

Well there is an easy work around for that. Can you say two accounts...
My merchant alt is in training on my 2nd account, as I would rather pay for two accounts then grind a 2nd character slot.

Given your lack of height, a /hi5 might not be a great idea.... or is that what the /comfort was for?

That's what I do. The character listed below is my Merchant, and has the combat skills of a Peep. I don't name my Ranger here because I tend to piss people off now and then on the Trade boards, and I'd rather not bring it down on my Ranger, too.
I like having a merchant. It's fun! I have one guy just for Scout and Ranger supplies--camo kits, crates of traps, veghash, fishing tackle & bait, clothing and whatnot. Even tents, though they rarely sell for the obvious reasons. But I keep them there for completeness.
I also love Rangering, but I just don't feel like dealing with hunting all the time. I like that I can enjoy SWG without having to get into combat.
On a side note, I'm amused at how everyone assumes I'm a man. Maybe I should start calling everyone "hun."

I think the remote purchase option is useless anyway since you still have to go pick it up at the planet it's on.
And I also feel your pain about anyone now being able to advertise galaxy wide without having made a skill point investment.

Well it is going to be good for the in game economy. As it stands there if very little worth wild compition. I've never seen any sign of a price war. I'm sure it will be a blood bath for a while, but in the end it will be a good thing. We will see the end of 10,000% mark ups. The credit will be worth some thing again.
If every one played the prof like you do, it would work out fine. It is mostly a tool of persons with many accouts and some obsession with credits. I don't think its being used the way it was meant to be. It seems like a proff that was intended to be playable on its own, like Farmer or Miner, in a world where you could play SWG with out getting into combat, and being an entertainer was fun.
My WS just quit the game. He had dropped his prices to what he thought was fair price insdead of matching the vendors in his area. As fast as he could stock he was bought out by a group of 4 to 5 people. Some of these people where WSs. They where either destroying or reselling his stuff so they could keep their prices up. I wish I was kidding.
I can't find a BE camo/mask scent shirt on my server for less than 50k.
No one wants to say it out loud but the merchant prof is the reason for the inflation in game. I was one, I quit it to become a Ranger.
If it makes you feel any better 80% of the people I meet in game don't even know that there is a global vendor search function.

What's worse is that, from previous posts, I'm sure I knew you're not of the bloke persuasion. You must just have a deep voice

You can't blame merchants as a whole, just like you can't blame crafters as a whole or rangers as a whole. The three are tied in. For all we know the guys buying stuff up aren't merchants at all, they sell wholesale or something.
I do hate it, though, when people buy up items I've made/harvested and priced fairly to resell them (the occasional really good bargain aside). A guildmate of mine, "Joe,"was selling his ship paint kits at a good, reasonable price, and someone was buying them ALL. He asked her, and she said, "I'm stocking my vendor." For a good bit more than the 1k or whatever he was charging, apparently.
He solved that one by naming them "Joe's 1000 Cred Ship Paint Kit" from then on.![]()
I do right now, I've had a cold for six days.

When I'm alone in my room
And I stare at the wall,
In the back of my mind
I hear my conscience call
Telling me I need a girl
Who's as sweet as a dove.
For the first time in my life,
I think I need love.
LL Cool J is the uber L337-est.
