Thanks everyone. You have been very helpful,as usual. It sounds like my feeling about camo is pretty close to the mark.I think I will stick to maskscent for the most part.Using it on another player is an interesting idea but it creates a problem for me.Seeing someone burstrun away screaming from a creature that didnt even see me may be the only laugh I get on some days.I think Ill just keep the fact that I can mask others scents a secret for now. Thanks again for the helpful comments.

Yeah but back then we only needed about 60% of the expierience needed now.....It was increased just prior to the mask scent/scout xp thing .I remember putting off the wayfaring for the ooh...the big "Creature to-hit bonus" Leaving the last two boxes uncompleted to thinking hey 30-40k Scout exp. ,no sweat ,to see the requirement double after logging back in a week later thinking hey progress is goin' well..ouch

Yeah Im not much of a camo kit guy myself....would be nice if it would actually help the people you try to apply it to ,would kind of make the ranger more helpful to his/her buds in the wilderness.

Also affects aggro NPC's. So the two main differences:

1. Affects aggro creatures AND aggro NPC's.

2. Can be used on others.

Don't Camo Kits provide scout xp when it protects the wearers as well. (i.e. You apply camo to yourself and 2 other people and you get scout xp from your camoflauge as well as scout xp from the other 2 people wearing your camoflauge) Although it is a quick way to gain xp it is really kind of useless when you don't need any more xp.

You know, I have no idea...ive been maxed out on scout xp for a while now...thats a good question

The most useful thing I find about camo kits is that if I make a bunch of Talus camo kits, I can put them around my house and it looks like I have some six-packs lying around my house.

My guild is based on and hunts on Lok alot where the mobs are social, agressive or both.

When I camo the others members of the group it makes things alot easier since the mobs mostly agro our pets instead of us. The exception is when someone insists on shooting at a creature that has not started beating on a pet. But I keep an eye out for that happeneing and if it ok to do so then send my pet to help out.

Camo working against npc's is a big advantage in my experience.

I have to say carrying three stacks of resources for each planet I want to visit is starting to annoy me a bit, so I am thinking of getting a factory and manufacturing crates of camo kits, one for each planet. I can do everywhere except Dath.

I have not seen a spam for exp for 4 months now. There was a brief time after pushing around the blocks of CH to train SImba the stuff I wanted but that quickly stopped.

It was working for me last night against npcs on dantooine. Killed a guy, walked up and looted him, and the 3 aggro npcs around him didn't even notice me.

This can sometimes happen without using conceal. I think it's a combination of several issues, lag, faction programming, IA loops...twice in the past I had CorSec shooting me out of the blue and I have a monster positve faction with them. 5 minutes later they help me in battle instead. I have not had an incedent with CorSec in a long, long time, however, so some fixes have gone in here.

Trust me, Swooper gangdon't even hesitate even tho I crawl while concealed. They nerfed it.

Plain and simple...they just help to mask the party you might be with...such as it is.....I have seen it help with a hunting party I was with on Dath...I just had to keep applying it.

I have to do this every 5 minutes. After application #3 across 10 people it gets tedious. It really should not be "breaking" this much.

I wish there was an "if statement" in macros so I could determin who needs camo and cycle through the party. Or hey, crazy idea, figure out why mine breaks so much.

I did not master Ranger until just after they put in the patch that added /track and raised the camp xp. So, while I have been around for a while, I am not one of the "Original" rangers.
