I've tried twice w/o Ranger in my template. I've Mastered Ranger 3x on one character, and once on another. I can't live w/o it. I am a Ranger, I know more about Talus than anyone on my server, I can run through Rancor Valley (well, used to be able to) w/o harm, and I can kill kimogilas unbuffed w/o armor. The challenge now is to find a way I can do this post-CU.

Likewise, I will never drop Master Ranger. I wear it proudly.
I joke with people; when they say "I can't find you!" I just tell 'em, "I'll use /areatrack player!"
Sometimes, when we're fighting against the tough stuff, I let our marksmen know when I'm throwing a Sticky Mesh trap so they can back off after it holds the beast in place.
When I can't find an npc fora certain quest, I do /areatrack person.
When I see someone in trouble, particularly if they are a marksman being attacked in melee, I use /rescue to get them out of trouble.
I have had more fun as a Ranger than I have had with any other profession that I have taken. It is more rewarding than any other, because of the personal satisfaction that you get by surviving and adapting. Even though we are nowhere near the effectiveness of some other classes in combat, we have our niche.

I have always been a Ranger, but not always a Master Ranger. When the CU goes live, I will from here on out always be a Master Ranger. I thought about not being a Ranger, but I can't stand to be without it. It does complete me. roaming the Agrilat Swamps for hours on end is just the way I want it to be.

I have to be honest...
I almost faultered.
Last night I played with respec, the dark-side. I went down to only Tracking 3... no other Ranger skills...
I was great with melee weapons for a moment, but nothing was really different, I dodn't feel better... I felt worse. I felt slow. I was without master Ranger for 30 minutes. Just then the server(Intrepid) was about to go down. I actually prayed for a rollback, that I could pass it off as a bad dream.
Tonight I loged in and first thing I did... /respec
I went to my character tab... set title... "Master Ranger"
I was happy again.
What I am saying is that I am proud to be a Master Ranger. It's a badge of honor for me. I love my skill point requirements, it means I am dedicated and invested... And, there is an element of RP to the game you can't get elsewhere than with Ranger... Can a Carbineer walk the length of Dathomir and AVOID combat if he/she chooses? Can a Jedi?... NO! We can!
Again.. I now more than ever understand a person giving up Ranger, have fun with that new profession... That's why we are here. And as far as I am concerned, "Once a Ranger, always a Ranger." I have actually noticed a mentality to Rangers, a high caliber of individual, I am proud to be among the fine examples I have come across, and that frequent this area of the forums.
In closing... It was a close one, but...
I am STILL a RANGER!
