If your'e stuck on the spy mission on the station where you fly out to the asteroid, kill the droid, fly back, but the pilot trainer keeps saying "You've got a mission for me", the workaround at this point is to go into your datapad (hit "P")and abort the space mission. Seems to work every time, then the pilot trainer will congratulate you on a good job, the spy trainer will talk to you again, and all will be good in the world.

Oh, and they fixed this. The problem was that the system wasn't registering you as returning to the space station. They upped the distance that it "saw" you at, and now as long as you get within 500 or so meters of the space station, you'll complete the quest. Before, you had to basically crash into the space station for it to register. So they appear to have fixed that, along with the ramp bug.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

The other way around that part was to simply delete the mission out of your datapad and the quest would update. Well it worked for me anyways.

I think the changes sound intersting (and I say "sound" as I don't have a computer that can play SWG just now), I think it could be fun, I've been getting texts from a friend testifying that it is. Like others though, I'm concerned about permanent professions and only having 9 professions. With the reports I've read in this thread, I'm hopeful about it, for whenever I get a new computer so I can get to try it out.

The major thing that is really spoiling what could be an exciting time in SWG is that SOE conned everybody into this change. It was sneaky, underhanded and dishonest, makes you think if you really want to keep paying into a company like that.

I didn't use buffs or uber armour, so why did the combat revamp have to spoil my game?

Impressions so far :

Iwant to kill 3PO and Han. Yes I'm stuck on the ramp.
Not sure about the 'over the shoulder view'.
Turning on the spot looks silly (it always did but now I just notice it more).
I keep waiting to hear "head shot!!!" when in combat.

I have two mice and a tablet set up on my PC. One mouse is a gaming mouse I use mostly for FPS games, the other is a optical trackball that I use for any MMORPGs and general use.

I relized last night (during my 10 minute playsession) that I'd need my FPS mouse ... which means any PvP -if it even fits in this system- is gonna result in tons of "jumpers" 'cause they're harder to track with the mouse.

This over the shoulder interface makes following a target much trickier! I also hate that I lost my old SWG keyboard layout. The original keyboard mechanics are still my favorites.

I find that I only get past it if I run along the right side of it, (inner side that is,, so on to the ramp and then strafe right while running forward) /shrug but that could just be me.

New impressions / thoughts after looking at conversion on TC-Ahazi...

So, Ahazi is still up as a TC, and I've got a level 80 Master Ranger (now a level 80 spy) that I just tested a couple things on.

1) Harvesting: ouch, crafters (if there are any after this) are gonna get hit hard. Veghash no longer works. I decided to just pop some dragonets laying around, killed enough to loot bristley hide off 'em a couple times with ye olde randome looting - without veghash got 41 units of bristley hide. WITH veghash (that says +30 to creature harvesting in the conversion)... got 41 units bristley hide. Looks like harvest mods are pointless, or broken at this time.

2) Ranger items in conversion: for the most part still seem to be there. I had a ton of traps in my inventory that I cna't do anthing with. I guess for anyone that's sticking around, looks like we'll be able to keep camo kits and traps and camps manufactured and available for display at least. Whee?

3) Big game hunting: gonna be a while before I'm soloing any krayts it looks like. specials and all hit okay, the arachne's web (?) snarewas nice and slowed it down and did some DoT damage it looked like, but the new combat and keyboard movement interfact fankly sucks for trying to kite something in great big circles like I used to, at least for now. Maybe as I get used to it over time or something it'll get better, but man... I got chomped faster than EVER. It sucks pretty badly - its almost impossible to be running backwards using WASD, aiming with a mouse, and typing 1-0, - or = to select the left click special you want to use. One slip up and you're dead, end of story. Maybe groups will be better, I'm not sure. But the CL mis-match damage multiplier plus the new interface and "Twitchy" aiming required are going to make it significantly harder to take on any kind of high end game solo. A challenge ahead of us, if you will...

yeah, switching between specials is difficult, so what you might want to do is stick with the aracne web. Remember, keeping them snared is the chief task. I would remove some of my specials to have enough room on my main toolbar for p-darts when facing the ancients (I had about 8-10 toolbarslots used for p-darts. Never used all of them, but it was always good to have them around). So long as you stay away from the pointy parts of the dragon, you should be able to stick with the lower damage special.

Also, what i've noticed is that numbers 1-4 are easiest to hit, so keep your most important specials there (don't forget smoke bomb-- Spies don't die, they disappear long enought to GTH outta dodge.
