Hey Speaking of camps...

Anyone experienced this? I love to set up camps on the very tippy top of pointy mountians (no Freudian comments, please) and often when i do this, the "map" shifts and Im suspended in air for a few seconds, which almost immeadiatley disbands the camp.

Ok, talk amongst yourselves; topic, Star Wars Galxies, which is neither Star Wars, or Galaxies.

ok, I sense confusion...

  • Calling a pet 20 times does not work

  • Having 20 people driving in and out right away (or just one doing it 20 times) has only a slight effect... to little to bother with

  • You can slightly increase the default max. It requires a doc to heal folks, but if you do it, no bonus. It's not really worth bothering but it can shorten the time a camp gets to max. I think this is a rounding error and does not always happen.

Here is how it works. Every 2 seconds a person is in the camp counts as a point of survival exp. more people in the camp adds another point for the time they are in the camp. You also get a point for every wound healed and a point for every damaged healed. The latter part is tallied differently and if timed right can increase the max exp that a camp gives, but not much and that itself caps. The experience is totalled up every minute, so it has to be down at least one minute.

Therefore...

Have a doc heal folks and get as many in the camp as possible... to STAY there. Something like 600 is possible with the base camp all the way to 1100 for the FB. Rounding from healing can poke 100 more out of it, but this is not dependable. 10 people (I beleave) will max a basic in one minute. It would take 19-20 to max a FB in one minute. Also note that server lag will affect the results. You can't have them come and go, they have to all stay the full minute and it might not register all of them right away, causing you to go 2 or 3 more minutes. Safe bet is 5 minutes.

I only think it's an exploit if you use droids!

Pets can benefit from a camp the same way as players can (unless I'm mistaken), therefor your camp is helping another entity, whether it be AI or player.

If I remember correctly its not the number of visitors that count. It's the number of unique visitors that count. Having the same 2 friends run in and out won't work. But having 20 different people come thru will. That's the way I thought it worked.

Why should the droid count hurt? Dont you think they should be allowed to come out and relax to? And not only come out of their pok3ballz(beat that forum filter) when they are needed to kill? Shouldnt they be allowed a chance to roam and be free like us? Don't you ever call a pet just to have a companion while roaming?

Or maybe we could just adjust some numbers Dave

Yup... what Fred said... or right said Fred? Nm, don't mind me.

The point was that I found the total number of visitors not being in direct relation with the ammount of xp you gain per minute... only the time they spend there (and, of course, whatever they DO in there)

So... a good choice for grinding Frontiering IF you dont want to craft till your fingers bleed is have a couple friends (a tumbler, and one that wishes to grind medic/doctor) come and grind while at your camp. This is a good way, specially since getting 20 ppl to stay at your camps long enough is gonna be hard (unless you're out hunting with that big a group).

I wonder what you could do with 20 tumblers and a Combat Medic.....

Ask the guys on the SE beach near Coronet. At least 2 camps there doing that allways. Never seen survival ground faster in my life...

Ok, so here's something weird, don't know if this is happening to anyone else. Yesterday I set up my camp after jumping off my landspeeder. I sat there medding and making traps. Went to check on camp status to see how long it had been up when I noticed that it said there was 2 people in the camp. I looked everywhere.. no one but me and my trusty vehicle. Figured it was a bug. Then today I did the same thing... I think the game is counting my vehicle as another person.. in fact I'm quite sure of it.

This happen to anyone else? Wonder if it's like the droid idea...

Yeah vehicles also count as a visitor, even the annoying green droid counts as a visitor and that one is better to use than another droid because it's battery never goes down.
