whatever you think your time in game is worth to you.

Tracking can be very tedious.

I have done some in the past. If I have time, I usually say I'll spend up to 1/2 hour tracking for you. Flat fee for even starting <x credits> and a bonus for finding the target within the 30 minutes <y credits>.

Bearing in mind as a master swordsman, I can earn quite alot of credits in 1/2 hour of missions on Dant, or as a Ranger get a lot of resources in 1/2 hour of hunting, these days I would probably charge a flat fee of 50k for the attempt at tracking, and then a bonus based on what it is that needs to be found i.e what it is worth to the prospective client. For me that would be another 50k or so ....

but in the end it's down to you what you charge, and up the the client whether they can or will pay that.

Needless to say, guildies and friends get tracking for free

Have to agree with Chowley. I never get asked to track for anybody, (guess there aren't enough jedi to go around). So Chilastra is fairly calm when it comes to tracking, and I wear my Master Ranger tag all the time.

After a bit of haggling, explaining that I only track pirates in the mornings due to spawnstatistics, and that I won't spend more than an hour on it at most,I agreed to track the pirates for a fellow who seemed friendly and mature enough for me to enjoy being around him for an hour. And then...

Client: Why do you keep stopping?

Me: I need to examine the tracks, listen to the ground, test the wind... without moving (( ooc: areatrack requires me to be still ))

Client: I don't think you're doing it right

Me: Actually I assure you I am.

Client: You didn't even go get the probot yet, that's why you're not getting any updates

Me: Er... didn't follow that

Client: The probot, you have to get it to land and then upload the pirate's signature I think and then let it tell you where they are

Me: Maybe you are thinking I'm a bounty hunter? I don't use droids, I just rely on my tracking skills. It works differently.

Client: Well I'm not paying to hang out with you man, use a [expletive] probot or you're never gonna find the [expletive] pirates

Me: It really doesn't work that way, rangers don't use droids.

Client: Well maybe that's why you guys say ranger is broken, you just don't know how to track right

Me: I didn't say anything was broken. And look *displays hero of tatooine ring* I really do know how to help you with this quest.

Client: Look I'll go buy you a thing of [expletive] droids I know a DE then we can do this the right way

Me: Ok, maybe that would be helpful. Thanks my friend. A crate of seeker droids would be great. Matter of fact, you should probably get seven or eight crates just to be safe.

I paraphrased from memory, but you get the idea.

I've been wearing my Tracker tag on Farstar for what seems like an eternity, however I have never had a single /tell to request tracking. Then one day last week, while out in the middle of nowhere on Endor I see someone fly by on radar then stop. A few seconds later I get a tell asking to track some Bluurg Raptors. I explained all about my chances of actually tracking some and the guy says thats fine he's been looking for a whole day and any help is better than none. So I agree as I am not really doing anything else and head off in the opposite direction..

An hour later I get a little bored so I set up camp cos I need to get my frontiering up. I go afk for a while (well about an hour actually!) and come back to log off. I then realise I was supposed to be tracking for the guy - oops. I send him a tell saying "sorry I've had no luck, i will continue looking later, please let me know if you find any". He says "no problem" and thats that.

When I log back on later I have a mail from him "hey I found some no need for you to track any more, i'm on lok now looking for enraged kimos". I reply that I might pop over (feeling a bit guilty about earlier!). I then get a 150k bank tip from him! So I then did go to Lok andluckily after 1/2 hour I do track an Enraged Kimo (near Adi's Rest). So I send him a tell and he comes to meet me (he is obviously a Jedi now, though I thought this was the case anyhow). As he arrives another Enraged Kimo spawns so we now have two! Actually I think it was there already but it was in my 'track' hole ~100m He then proceeds to log on his alt and buff me for free then we all group and take out the two giant kimos pretty swiftly

I then got invited to Naboo to look for Peko Peko Albatross but I decline the offer as I hadto attend to some other stuff. He was fine with this and went on his merry way.

I only hope future clients will be as polite as this guy

Ive been running around with tracker over my head for quite a while now (still havent got the AP for master) and Ive only been asked to track a few times. Normally on tatooine for the hero quests. One chap /tell'ed me and asked if I could track a Krayt for him, I said I was busy and he didnt respond. An hour later, after I had moved on to Dantooine, the same guy /tell'ed me and asked if I'd found him one yet! I politely said that I wasnt looking, that I wasnt even on the right planet, and I dont track for free. I think he was hurt, but never replied lol.

Of course I have one good tracking story, someone tell'ed me while I was lost inside the warren, after a bit of nice chatting we settled on a price of 50k per half hour and I started tracking for a Graul Marauder. It turned out that the chap I was tracking for was in the guild that lives in a nearby town to my home on Talus. I made 100'000 credits that night, had a nice enjoyable chat, but didnt find a Graul. Not a bad night though if you ask me.

I have multiple accounts I pay for because I enjoy playing this game very much. The majority are crafters since I love crafting and only have one combat based character. He is a Master Ranger Swordsman and is my favoritte combat combination out of everything I have tried.

My question is this at what point does a Master Tag = xxxx personal bxtch?

I have encountered many people who seem to feel that because you wear a master tag in any profession that you must sell your services, sell your services to them on demand , and at any price they deem they are worth.

I think it is perfectly natural to ask someone with a Master Tag in x for the service but when that person says "No" politely that it means no. Not why not, how come, why did you become a master? It certainly doesn't warrant personal insults.

Personally I am a Master Ranger for 2 reasons.

1) I enjoy the profession immensley.

2) Isupply organics to my alt crafting accounts.

You have to wonder what is wrong with some people that they leave there manners, common sense, and sometimes just plain human deceny at the login prompt.

I decided to damage some brain cells and harvest some of the recent dath avian meat ( hey 200cpu ) .

i was in combat with some reptillian fliers and get agroed by some nightsisters so am in trouble . ( begining to woner why im harvesting avian meat )

dood - hey can u train my non ch pet to be a mount ?

me - no ( well i was in combat and couldnt be asked )

dood - hey can u train my non ch pet as a mount ?

me - no ( still in combat )

dood - hey can u train my non ch pet as a mount ?

me - no ( getting rather annoyed now and stil in combat )

dood - fine , whatever dont help me then

couple of minutes later im not in combat so i send the dood a tell .

me - ok dood ,first off it is usually polite when sending players tells to ask if they are busy or can then spend a minute talking to you , this is what i personally do . secondly i was in combat when you sent me your tells so it was not convenient to reply to you . maybe you will consider this next time you send tells to players . thirdly if you had any brains you would have bothered to find out that you need a pack master or master creature handler to train a pet as a mount .

dood - hey fu*k you you fu*kking looser , fu*kking tosser , sh*t head , dont help me then

me - thank you . thats made my day very amusing . (/report )

dood - hey fu*k you , i wish you were an imp the i could fu*king kill you you fu*king looser .

me - hehe thats very funny , keep going , im really enjoying this conversation ( /report )

dood - you fu*king looser

me - well as it happens i am an imperial and would be happy to fight you , lets meat up for a duel

dood - ok im gonna teach u a lesson looser

me- ok lets meat at the fs village

dood -ok i am there right now

i make my way to force village and to my great surprise , not , the dood is nowhere to be found , i try area track players and hes not within 1000 meters .

me- dood im at the village an u are nowhere to be seen

dood - well im buys can u meet me ther in 20 minutes

me- sure thing i will wait for you

while waiting i get out my mounted non ch pet for show and to taunt him with lol . eventually he turns up buffed with 4500 ham so hes taken pixied and bio food , but hes not wering armour .

i say hello and duel challenge him .which he doesnt accept . afetr 5 minuters or so have passed .

dood - hello mate , your a master tkm ( strangely polite suddenly )

me - thats right , accept the duel then so we can get this over with

dood - no db right

me - no this is a db match , i thought you wanted to kill an imp ?

dood- can u come back in an hour ?

me- what so you can get some friends here to group with you to tef atack me ?

dood - no , promise

me -just get on with it

dood - i have to go out now , can u come back in an hour

me - look u have already wasted 20 minutes of my time , a duel takes 5 minutes , just get on with it

so the dood that was so keen to kill an imp ranger that wont train hi pet , finally accepts the duel

i warcry /intimidate/dissy /nockdown him then spam unarmed hit to savage his health down by a third . he gets up , healls his bar totally ( hes a doc also ) i nock him down again , savage his ham , he gets up and heals .

i am bored , so at this point tell my rubbish non ch mount to atack him for fun

dood /endduel

dood - hey you fu*king cheater , attacking me with your pet you looser imp

me -this is a death duel right ?

dood - should have known never to trust an imp

me - you agreed to a death duel and ened the duel , i think i is you that have cheated

anyway this goes on for a while so i put away pet but the dood just wont fight me anymore . In the uk we have an old fashioned slang term for dickheads like this character , we call them , nimrods .

and the dudes name , yep uyou guessed it -NiMRoD-

I love it. To him, If HE uses his Doctor skills to heal himself it's not cheating. If YOU use your pet (non CH one at that), it IS cheating. He definitely is a nimrod.

I personally have a simple rule for dealing with people in SWG: I will not have a conversation with, do business with or duel anyone who can not spell "dude", "you", "are", "cool" (ie: dood u r kewl) or any common four letter word. If one can not take the time to learn the English language, then perhaps one should not be wasting time playing games.

I wince everytime I see my husband type "ur" instead of you're. I scolded him once but his answer was a shrug and a "why bother?" He doesn't do it because its cool leet talk he does it because he's a grumpy Rodian who doesn't like talking more than he has to!

But I luv... er, love him anyway.

Mind attacks are the way to go in PvP against a doctor. TKM has the ability to target the mind--use it.
