But my buddy Ichibod(left the game last month) was a Master Ranger. So he tracked one down in less than 15 minutes. i did an area track and it was in the animal section. They only drop loot, Gorax bone fragments, they can be used to upgrade a ranged weapon.

Gorax is 400-480k HAM, heavy armor, 65% kinetic, 45% energy, 35% rest, LS vuln.
Main attack is a KD/dizzy. They do not stun/intimidate/bleed/anything else.
Rifleman cannot realistically solo one. Concealshot does not work for more than a few shots. However, any melee prof with a good set of armor can tank one nicely. Only a swordsman can do a reasonable amount of damage although. We had a melee def stacker tanking for us and she'd get KD'd regularily with 120 KD def and 100 KD def food as well. If your ranged people don't have armor on the gorax will kill them easily when the tank is flopping.
Also, they are easy to find, I usually find one in minutes of looking.
I think a solo rifler could do it with ease. Take a look at the riflemen FAQ on how to solo an elder. I believe that if you follow those same tips a Gorax would be much easier since the resists are much easier.
Key things to note:
1. Only conceal shot can be used. No one can attack using anyother shot.
2. As soon as the bleed starts, stop attacking until it ticks away. The bleed acts as a second attack mode and will cause the creature/npc to agro.
3. If it starts to wander around then stop and wait for it to settle.
4. Go prone so that every shot counts.
With these points I believe a rifleman could solo a gorax with enough time.
