I understand why this was wanted mainly for the need of "money". A thing most "casual" Rangers don't always see a lot of, I'd imagine.

At least with seeing loot, at hey, perhaps MR, you could manage to sell the loot for cash, and the reasons behind being able to see it are shown above in the other posts. I just never saw "money" really mentioned outright, but I think it'd be doable albeit not allowed in. Maybe some sort of "Chance" thing could be allowed telling us about that creaturedepending on a certain chance of spotting it on the animal. Or at least be general and tell us "Something is on it" to kill and see.

Good point Nraas. I know setting up three macros to do this is possible , but I am Master Ranger/ CH 4313/ Rifleman 2001 and with all the other macros that I have for my creatures, rilfe special shots and the like, traps, pet stims, i have gotten rid of those and now just use the radial to harvest. And yes I use two full hot key bars. My point is just this, if after we harvest, we got a simple little message saying "Creature contains loot" it would be nice. Just my input

BUT..you can map macro's to keyboard commands. i.e. My three harvest and loot macro's are mapped to ctrl+q, ctrl+w, and ctrl+e. I then mapped /maskscent (had to make a macro to do it) to ctrl+r somy my main ranger commands are close to each other on the keyboard. I love it have since added my mount and dismount marco's etc. to my keyboard. I even have enough space on my tool bar to have my food on it.

Actually I have been sort of kicking the whole idea of hunting in this game around a bit in me head...

I think, much in the same way that only scout's can harvest creatures, that ONLY Rangers should be able to loot animals.

I like it.

I have the feeling there would be an outcry from pretty much every other professions if such a change were implemented, but the idea is interesting. Maybe if it were a little less extreme, like only the rarest of items could be looted from animals by rangers while the more common could be looted by everybody.

I'm trying to remember the story... I think it was in the "Tales from Jabba's Palace" book, but there was one of jabba's men that after jabba's death was forced to travel across the desert back to mos eisley, and in the process killed a krayt. He was able to loot some pearls from the krayt, but the only reason he knew about the pearls, and where to find them, was because he had studied them in hopes of hunting them one day. Something along the lines of rare loots from animals would be a nice addition for rangers imo.

That would be so sick. I'd get Ranger back just for that. But, I'd make it a skill for masters.Give Master Ranger a real bonus.

Lots of people would pick up Ranger just for that skill. It would be nice but I'm not sure that the system generates the loot until after the creature is killed. This could cause a bit of a problem with setting something like this up.

I believe it's a dice roll thing. I believe it's based on chance ratios. Kind of like looting force crystals come by chance.

"Most of us run the macro /harvest meat; /loot to perform the looting and harvesting one one keystroke."

Yeah i have /harvest meat; /loot set up as a macro and assigned to the 0/ins key on the number pad so its a simplefinger tap away. Also have the bone varient and the hide varient set up on number 2 and 3 on the keypad with 4 as peace and 1 as attack. I find this set up very helpfull.
