One of the first things, actually, come to think of it, one of the few things I really liked about WoW was the fact you could jump over and off things

And plummetting from a treetop platform because you didn't pay attention to where you were going...... I can still feel my stomach lurch as my elf discovered gravity. And promptly smashed into every branch on the way down, dying in a heap onthe floor.

Man that was FUN!

I personally more expect the reason for this being that the expansion includes features which need JTL (new ships, space mining).

yes, unfortunately i have to agree with Darmok. Although, it would be super cool if there was a planet that only accessible by player ships. Now, it would still be accessible by non-JTL players via the Group-Travel mode. but it would be very cool. I could make money off my Yacht.

When I first started in game somebody told me that you needed a heavy space flight suit to go to Dath, because of the atmosphere, but that compo worked as well as the helmets havea built in BA.

Months later I'd still not been to Dath and my guild said they were going up hunting rancor...


ah, yes, I was green enough to say "but don't we need a flight suit or armour with BA to go there??"

Remeber if you dont have jtl you cant play the new expansion therefore in order to actually visit kasyyyk you would need to have RotW and JTL

They should make it much harder (even access quests) to get to planets such as Endor, Yavin and Dathormir aswel as the upcoming Kasyyyk

yes, you are right. the high level planets should not be so accessible.

regarding falling...

I remember back in the day when the first (or one of the first) preview for SWG came out in my PCGamer magazine. In one of the interviews it mentioned something like this: If you walk toward the edge of a cliff, the game will stop you prior to your falling, and will ask you if you want to proceed, all while your character does some sort of animation (showing that it is off-balance maybe?). I should find what the actual quote from the article was, as many things would be interesting to see as they have changed so much.
