Even if they had responded to Owen or JB we wouldn't know for sure unless they were OKd to bring it to the community.

The devs have not responded to the numerous posts we have made to the in-testing forum about the Ranger problems, which include the HAM system and the Level system.

That doesn't mean they haven't seen them.

The devs HAVE responded to the Armorsmiths and to other testers, but have ignored the Rangers completely.

And now to us as well... there have been changes to how Scout XP is awarded.

The CU is going live as is and nothing we post will change anything other than a few bugs out of the hundred bugs in the CU that will make it to live.

Take a deep breath we're still a long way from it going live.

This is JUST like the original Beta and the JTL beta where the Devs only want to hear about Bug problems, cause the systems and dynamics of the game are set in stone.

Uh... no they're not. We've seen them change a dozen times already. Some things aren't going away (the icons) some things are going to get tweaked though.

ROTW is already hardcoded with the CU, it will not change now.

That's not how it works. RotW content is not hardcoded to the CU. The CU is a system underlying how other things itneract. Though its possible that aspects of prosthetics are coded to behave within the goals of the CU even those aren't set in stone yet. Creature behaviour works within certain aspects of the CU. New Creatures will be working within the code of the CU but that doesn't mean that RotW has to have the CU go live as is. If it did we wouldn't be testing and seeing things change.

In June or so, the Devs will realize their mistake and promise a second CU, thus pushing everyone's revamps back another year.

I'm gonna go to live and sit under an Albatross until I feel better. I am done testing for them, they don't care what we think anyways.

Relax. Just because you haven't heard anything doesn't mean nothings happening. All this getting worked up and playing chicken little is only going to make us look foolish if and when things change. We may be right about certain things... but there is alot still up in the air!

Relax.

But don't stop talking about this issue. Make sure every soul you can find that doesn't know about how levels work knows after you've explaned it to them.

And if it is appropriate make sure they undersand how it effects us and how that will effect them. No need to be anoying about it, I'll do that for you.

Don't give up, and don't shut up.

Nope, its been quiet because tiggs and th have been extremely busy with ep3 prepping. Emails and pms have been flying though and tiggs is helping me get some feedback from the team as we speak.

Well the scout xp problem has been adressed this patch so the notes say. Not our primary issues but work none the less. Other changes could be coming, or they could not. Aslong as we state our issues and put them in the issue/poll/bug threads they will be seen.

Hey, it's no problem. We'll just all drop down to 4040 scout, group up together, and still outstrip a Master Ranger!

Well we know Owen is fighting. He got things done when group harvesting changed. I have complete faith in him.

Right now the profs that depend on us, that didn't understand our problem or only partialy understood it are being made aware of the it. This is one of those things that must be done with care, but we have one big thing on our side, we are highly respected. Its not something that will happen over night but the power of having them all behind us is better than fighting on our own.

They all have their own problems, but like I said at the top of this post this is everyone's problem. I have no problem going out on a limb with out support or sanction and making every one aware of it.

Oh, we will still be needed to harvest. We just have to tag along with large groups to do it. :/

So wrong

I foresee that if this goes out the way it is, I'll be only hunting to supply the needs of the artisans of the town I live in (Mos Aga'me).

And those I consider close enough to have good relations with.

Since our town houses 3 Rangers (DaveG, D'nara and myself) it will probably help our town tremendously.

And if we do the hunts together... Well...

Rest of the people: sorry, but I'm not a fighter. I'm a Ranger/CH.. I have difficulties in killing creatures effectively. I'd advise you to take Novice scout so you can harvest yourself.

In effect I'll be on strike

We can't use the resource argument I'm afraid.

There will still be lots of combat orientated people with Scout. I think lots of those will pick up the Hunting line to make money.

My new "Ranger" template will be:

Master Squad Leader
Master Carbineer
Scout: 4x44
... and I'll finally have the SP to unlock my FS slot.

With Veghash, the harvest grouping bonus and the SL skills, this will allow me to lead a hunting group. Like a Ranger should. Sadly, without Ranger skills.

Only thing this template is lacking is the ability to camo my group.

I'm more or less going to hold off on commenting on the State of the Ranger until a month or so after the CU. Time will tell what our outcome will be (not saying we haven't given them enough time).

If what I have read is true my Ranger/CH is worthless even more after CU then now

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.

1) Is it just me, or does this smack of extremely bad planning born out of profiteering?

2) I thought scout wasn't being changed in the CU, per sé. So have I got it wrong, or has the only thing that has changed in scout been that it's harder to get experience points? (or isit a knock-on effect the the issue with low combat-level players?)
