One of the nice things about albatross feathers is that they at a +20 health bonus to each piece of armor. Also, they're not THAT hard to get. Pekos are now only a CL 82 and can therefore comfortably be solo'd with a bit of skill.

I usually track for them in the flat area west of Kaadara and north of the big ridge. The location points on swgcreatures are still relevent and make a good guide for heading out.

Hit the AS board for more detail on what can go into RIS these days.

Just a minor correction..... pre-CU peko feathers converted to +20 health bonus... but new ones that drop have a random health modifier. I believe I've seen them as low as +11, and have heard reports of as high as +25. They do NOT show what the health bonus is on the feathers when you loot them, only when an Armorsmith creates the health armor enhancement to use in the final step of the armor crafting process. They can also be used to health enhance ANY type of armor.... assault, battle, recon, RIS, faction, etc.

Each piece of RIS armor requires 1 Giant Dune Kimogila Scale, 1 Gurk King Hide, and 1 Woolamander Bone. These are obviously just the needed "loot" items. Dont bother trying to find all the other mineral/chemical resources... the AS you will have your armor made by should have what they need. Be sure to go to someone who has done alot of RIS already, as they are likely going to have a good stash of the two resources needed to get high condition on the final piece (i.e. over 100k)

just an added note, I didn't see anyone mention it, but anyway - one peko peko albatross drops more than one feather now. It used to be they only dropped one, but anyway, we killed one a few days ago and it dropped 7. It was about the third or fourth one we killed too. And we did see them near Kaadara - near my house actually about 1.2k SW of Kaadara (on WH).

Nice! too bad you died =/ We killed ours easily enough but there were three of us. My hubby who at the time was level 80 Carbine, me (55 Sword), and my son (27 novice BH/Critter handler - completely his own ideas I would like to point out, dang the movies and Jango Fett). Worse problem I had was just 'reaching' it - which my son or hubby solved by using Carbine's Crippling Blow (much <3 for that attack). The rest was keeping my guys from dying when they got incapped lol. Thankfully my son and I still have medic. Anyway, with three people it was easy.

Depending on who you've got along to help you (really need that level 80)- throw the p-darts, get them to use any knockdown they have, or bleed, and slowing shot/attack. Then basically it's just heal while whittling away atits health! Not much help for ranger tactics I fear =/ I've never done one on my ranger and being as how he's only level 56 atm he's not likely to solo one anyway.

Solo'd the peko pretty easily. As with all things, I used a combination of p-darts and KD shot. I wrote a guide to soloing big game, I've been asked by somebody else to help them find it. I'll go ahead and bump it up to the top.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Well Pheenix, you dont need to. I have your guide on my dashboard I was just unprepared and unconcentrated. I'll figure it out somehow by re-reading ur excelent guide.

I did hit it in the start with P-dart and then Knee Cap shot but then i lost my head - hehe - and died. So u say i should throw even more P-darts ? I always continue by running/kiting and KC shoot everytime the snare weares off.

Thx forgood advices. Arboe

I would suggest that you watch the timers and throw Pdart after pdart and knee cap shot after knee cap shot to keep the beast at bay.

I think Peko albatross feathers are bugged when used in armor, meaning they don't do anything right now. I read this sometime ago on the AS forums, after CU. It may have been fixed, by now who knows. I've gotabout 10 stacks of them right now, waiting. I think I am right but, check the AS board to be sure.

on the average gorax, I'll use around 10-15 P-darts. This is effective for me, and I throw right before the icon wears off. If the dart misses, I KD shot and try another trap. This strategy works well enough for me that if I fight a Gorax and have to use a single stim, I'm mad. and I don't wear armor anymore when I'm killing them.

Ok, i get the idea - makes a lot sense. Do u ever use dweezel for the high lvl. critters (80+) ?

Thx. Arboe

i don't. But it would help, I'm sure. I just don't like spending money on stuff like that, knowing I might miss a trap or two is no big deal when I have a KD shot and the creature rarely gets within 20m of me.

Hmm - i'll have to work on that. Once in a while 3-4 traps in a serie fails and thats not good. I take that distance to target should be 20-25 meters at best when throwing traps.

To follow up upon the Armor matter then it would be better to wear clothe with some good tapes attached i guess ?

I see no indication on screen for this but i still wonder ifcarrying abackpack slow my movement speed ?

Thx Arboe
