If one of those checks fail it goes into combat mode and goes after the one who has done the most damage. The annoying part is when it's put into combat mode by someone else (in the group, driving past on a speeder, another creature, etc) your modifiers don't mean squat and it wil come after you since you did the most damage on it.
One's gotta wonder why my rifle, doing 200-300 damage, makes me chased after....yet my friend, who is a commando, uses flame 2 for 10k damage....yet the animal rarely breaks following me.
Dunno, maybe it's because I shot it first...but heck, sometimes I just go there to lure it out but don't attack and have someone get it off me.
lol, dunno...digital critters are weird in this game sometimes

What if it looks at the highest to-hit and not most damage?????? :0
that's possible.. maybe it looks at the to-hit mod and decided whichever one is higher is the greater threat. Or, and this is a long shot, something is broken in the coding of the game where it checks to see which players have mask/camo on and attacks them! wouldn't that be a big surprise
really though, a lot of these would make sense. The wild card is that once it aggros it doesn't necessarily break your mask/camo... it just heads straight for you and all but ignores the other players. Seems to me something isn't right with that.

Calc, when are the devs going to confess to the hidden "animal" faction? It's obvious it's there, and rangers rack up -5000 real fast.

That sounds good, but isn't everyone at -5000 fast? I guess Rangers have the ability to go up to -10000 because of a boundary bug

Maybe the to-hit is a hidden modifier to that faction?

Interesting enough, I have to say this happened to me as well...
I was hunting with one of my friends (Chef/Commando), and we were on endor. He's fully buffed, armored, etc. I'm a wookie, but I'm buffed. I decide to lure one out, so I lure it like I normally did in the past (lure out, run, let another person take it. Worked like a charm, until now). I would shoot the animal, and peace, run away, he would attack...but even though I'm not shooting it still attacks me. This keeps on going too, interesting enough. He's closer to the lair, yet they all are starting to agro and follow me...
I got kinda annoyed with that and stuck behind him a good 30m so I didn't have this happen again...yet it did.
Today I was hunting with another friend on Dathomir. He's also a ranger, and the normal lure method worked just fine....odd, very odd indeed.
I wonder if something like this was planned.

I think this is an issue with concealshot, either by design or otherwise. I have seen this with various types of mobs: creatures, NPCs, etc. I can be shooting away, killing one after another, and not one aggros me. Then somebody else comes around and I get aggroed. The other playerdoesn't even have to attack. The mob--ormore thanone if they BAF--just starts in on me. I think the key is to not expect to stay concealed with concealshot if others are around.

So last night I was out on yavin harvesting insect meat for a friend of mine. It took me a while to take down the first lair (my combat skills have a little to be desired yet), and even after someone flew through on a bike and got a couple extra spiders all worked up (they came after me since the guy went right past me), I'd only been incapped once.
Later, My fiancee comes online with her master musician/pistoleer and we go out hunting spiders again. I hunker down, throw up /maskscent and /takecover, and start throwing /concealshot at the nearest one.... I knock it down a few pegs, no real trouble, when my fiancee starts shooting. HOLY COW! not only does the one I was shooting decide it's time to aggro, but so do 3 of it's buddies..... who do they go after? ME! Talk about getting crapped on
Anyway, we both ended up getting incapped multiple times while trying to kill just the one lair. This leads me to believe that perhaps I am far better suited to go it alone in dangerous areas than to fall for the "safety in numbers" cliche.
Ah well, I just wanted to share that little story... not very entertaining I guess, but I've been thinking about it since it happened...
