Just something for you to try.... I ran into this problem yesterday when I brought up my crafting interface while running. I think it's because I had my crafting tool bound to one of the secondary hotkeys, so I have to hit SHIFT-F1 to bring it up. After bringing it up, I was running, swimming, everythingVERY slow.

Tapping SHIFT once brought my speed back where it should be.

I'm not saying this is the same thing you're experiencing, but it's worth a try.

I can sum it up "We love you ranged, don't every change, oh? You want a new gun, a new move, something hard for us to do? You got it!"

Err.. what board exactly are you reading? Pistoleer? Because on the rifle board it's more like 'working as intended' even though pistols are as good as rifles at range and other such fun things, like our main strength being unhealable mind damage....when npcs don't heal....and in pvp, showing up on radar and being tab selectable, our nonexistant range bonus is nil because a pistoleer can close to midrange or shorter and have bonuses while we get dead.

Please to not slam other classes without reading stuff first (I only slam pistols because...they deserve it look at their list, cosmetic items on the top priority list! which class isn't broken, you guess...).

When I have trouble with movement from Take Cover, (and this is the take cover movement bug) in order to get my movement rate back, I have to take cover repeatedly until it goes away, or, if I swim, it goes away.

Figured something out last night, and I feel like a total dope.

I bought a full set of Ubese armor a couple weeks ago, to the tune of about 50 - 60k. When wearing my nice new armor, it sets most of my stats like Quickness and Strength down to around 200. I know armor has encumbrance, but I thought it was just to Health Action and Mind. No where do I see it listing lowering my other stats.

When I removed my armor and ran around in my underwear (much to the delight of others I might add ), I was running normal speed. So, what are my options... Fighting in normal clothing and taking full damage or having someone slice my armor? Will slicing my armor make that much of an improvement?

Thanks much guys,

Taelana

Go ahead and slam all you like, but I suggest you pick up a pistol and try it for yourself.

At range pistoleers get EATEN UP! But if they get close then they cut through their opponent.

I know cuz I am one. Whenever I get jumped at range by someone with a rifle or carbine I have two options - run or close. If I stand there I can inflict very little damage on the target until I get within 30 meters. And maximum damage is 19 meters for aiming, or point blanc at 3 - 0 meters.

I have no idea why people say pistols are the strongest thing in the game when I've seen laser rifles put people down in one shot - before the pistoleer even knew where the rifle was.

What you are witnessing is the different strengths of different weapons branches. Pistols are not overpowered. If they were as strong as rifles at range you would NEVER have even the slightest chance of killing anyone as a rifleman.

My pistol is -90 to hit at 63 meters. How's your rifle look at that range?

That means if someone engages me I have to get to 19 meters for optimum range. I have to cover more than 40 meters while someone's shooting my mind pool to pieces or headshotting you.

Sure once I get you in range - if you're dumb enough not to kite, I have the definite advantage. But that's where my weapon works and yours doesn't.

So before saying pistols need to be nerfed play pistol and see how it is. I've done rifle and I can tell you without a doubt that you're not looking at an uber weapon, you just don't know the strengths and differences of weapons in the game. Before you say pistoleer needs to be nerfed try learning how to use your own weapon.

And don't retort with 'that's bull -- " show me some statistics.

Whenever I go into my crafting session, my shift key locks.. One of the results being that I'm then locked into 'walk' mode. I just click each shift key a few times to free the lock.

Not certain if this is the same problem you're having, but try hitting the shift keys a few times and see if that alliviates anything.
