Thread: Best Woolly Creatures

So far here is my research on mobs which drop any wooly:

  • Rori: Gualama, Torton

  • Nabboo: Gualama, Peko Peko, Giant Peko Peko

  • Corellia: Durni

  • Tattooine: Bantha

  • Endor: Gurreck, Desert Gurreck Charger, Manticore

  • Yavin IV: Mamien

It seems to me wooly is the rarest hide (and probably why I get so much more for it on the market than other hide types).

So far as a master TKA Gualamas have proven the best. They drop 25 - 40 each and can be killed very quickly with no downtime.

Nest management is important however. If you hit the nest once, each time it "explodes" it will spawn a new creature to kill. Every now and then let a few creatures spawn, hit it once again (I like to use unarmed lunge since it does no damage) and they will come back and heal the nest. You can then repeat the process.

Tortons were ok, but didn't give as many hides and had the whole issue of giant size/melee range hampering me.

Bantha's can be good also as there are plenty of them on Tattooine. However, bantha's don't tend to have too many nests which means more running around than if you pick up a Gualama mission and manage it well.

I'd like to finish off the list for all creatures with wooly so please post below with any info.

I usually go for the duhrnis on corellia because with the quick kills and the abundance, I am able to yank a few 1000 in no time. As far as quality, that changes like every other resource. Good thing is, people are usually so hard-up for the hides, they usually don't care about quality, just quantity.

I am almost afraid to write this. As I learned in EQ, good things are quickly nerfed.

The feral banthas (red con to me) and rogue banthas (gold con to me) on Tatooine are great. All you need is a DoT (Damage over time, like Bleed from pistoleer), mask scent and good terrain navigation.

Mask scent works wonders on them. Sometimes they ignore you - with an active DoT on them! They walk around aimlessly or even lay down.

When they follow you, you simply run up a hill (Tatooine is full of canyons) all guns blazing, try to keep them at 50 distance. Obviously banthas have no scout or ranger skills, because they slow down considerably on rough terrain. You can easily outrun them without burst run.

Another very nice thing, they do not assist. So if you attack one, only this one will come (unless your mask scent breaks and you get aggro of others).

I get around 950 xp per feral killand 650per rogue. And nice amounts of wooly hides.

baelish : hurtons give out a bout 110 wooly to me but the OC is like 118 and they are a pretty hard mob, so to

the unseasoned ranger , better beware you will get killed.

On a side note you can get preety good money just on th e missions, the hides are just a bonus : )
