1h sword would be nice. you know, stealthy guy needs to kill silently hence the knife?

Hmm, when I think of ranger I think of very highly skilled marksmen and tacticians. Melee never comes to mind. This isnt EQ or MIddle Earth. I can only hope they will finally make ranger what Ive always seen it as. Please, we are not park rangers or boy scouts, we are elite combatant recon soldiers.

So, what does a soldier when he runs out of ammo?

Prays to God that he gets resupplied ASAP.

oooh, ooh, I know the answer to that one....

MajorFoulUp: What does a soldier do if he runs out of ammo Private?

PrivateMatter: SAH! He follows the prescribed drill, SAH!!

CorporalPunishment: Tell the Rupert... the officer what the Prescribed Drill is, Private...

PrivateMatter: SAH! The Prescribed Drill is Pack OFF, Webbing OFF, ++++ OFF SAH!!!

New HOWTO: Gather Milk, Fish, Mollusk, etc.

I think explor + survival, a ranger spec ops are trained to live off the land. I think this would fit the profile more. and allow for both. ranged and malee. and they could give ranger good mods in both.

I read on the Stratics HoC Chat that there is a new requirment for Ranger. Copied/Pasted below.
Brekkee - *Corbantis-Callale* Oh, another ranger question... can you tell us what the prereq's for ranger will be?
Helios - We're going with Carbines IV & Exploration IV for now.

Currently I am Master Ranger and Master Rifleman and removing the Master Scout requirment if great in my eyes but requiring Carines IV is not a requirment that I would like forced on me. I would suggest that the requirment be either Support IV or any one for the other 3 weapons ablitlies.

Any thoughts on this?

Currently Master Ranger + Master Rifleman requires 246 Skill Points.
IF Ranger requires Scout 4400: Master Ranger + Master Rifleman leaves 38 Skill Points
IF Ranger requires Scout 4000 + Marksman 0040: Master Ranger + Master Rifleman leaves 38 Skill Points
IF Ranger requires Scout 4000 + Marksman 0004: Master Ranger + Master Rifleman leaves 52 Skill Points,AND
Master Ranger Ranger + Master BH leaves 66 Skill Points = Giant Nerf Bat courtesy of whiney J

As I've stated elsewhere, I think the most balanced way to do this (if they are planning of making us become a hybrid) is to have to get Ranged Support + trapping. That makes the BH/Ranger combo just as costly, opens up extra skillpoints to ranged and melee professions other than carbineer and it costs the same as what they are proposing.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I would say marksman 0004 and scout 0040 would make the most sense as a pre-req.

Except that a melee Ranger will still have to have ranged, where as a ranged Ranger will not have to have any melee.
