"LastEE, there is no Mindshot3. After Mindshot2, there's Headshot3 (which uses huge amounts of HAM), then Surprise Shot, then the deathblow shot (don't remember the name)."

Oops. Guess I was in for a surpise then. Thanks. I believe "deathblow shot" is called sniper shot, but I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time today)

I already have mine a much brighter color, but there are still way too many lines going by way too fast to catch everything I'm doing once in a while I can catch a line or two of mine in there. It's nice to review, but I'm usually too busy with tells or to go onto the next beast to get time to review it, but thanks for tip. I'd really prefer and option to turn off all of the combat spam excecpt that which is done to/by me and only me.

I think you will be much better off with novice medic with organic chem1. Stim packs and wound packs are very useful and dont cause the BF and mind wounds that firstaid wound treatment does.

I'm working on Ranger/Rifleman myself (2-0-4-0 / 2-0-0-1) and I can tell you that Warning Shot is one of my most useful and most frequently used moves. I'm working toward the template of Master Ranger, Master Rifleman, Marksman Expert Pistol, Marksman Ranged Support 3. Total, 250 points.

My typical routine, suppose on a yellow con dune bantha, goes about like this:

Mask scent, kneel at 60m, equip T21.

Mind shot 2, Mind shot 1, Head shot 2, bantha rears and starts charging.

Equip scout blaster, stand, queue Warning Shot. As soon as that or successive Warning Shots successfully make it turn and run, /peace immediately.

Kneel, re-equip rifle, when bantha reaches 50m, head shot 2 again, which will make it turn and come back.

Repeat pistol Warning Shots and rifle Head Shots, playing yo-yo with the bantha, until it dies from the head shots and bleed damage.

Using pistol for the WS works well because it has a very short delay if the first shots either miss or hit but don't make the critter flee, plus I won't take such lethal damage standing there with a pistol equipped, plus my T21 misses a lot at short range.

He/she can dodge most attacks and heal himself or you.

How do you dodge attacks? And while I'm asking stupid questions, is there any way to take a few steps backward to adjust your attack range without actually turning and running and turning back?

Jale,

Heh - if I were to switch jobs, there'd be a lot of Scouts who'd be mighty pissed.

Anyway, I'll do both til we get an official one here.

Delta, gotta throw in my 2 cents.

You could have a brain fart, ask the stupidest question known to man, and coming from you it would still be better than one of the other correspondants posts I read.

I wont name the above mentioned correspondant, however, I am working Ranger and Squad Leader trees.

By the way, in case no one has read the SQUAD LEADER threads, you might get a kick out of this. SL's think they should gain SL experience by leading a group made up of the SL, a Pet, and a Droid.

Isn't that kinda like getting scouting experience for sitting in a cantina?

Get the ranged support and drop the medic line. You'll save those precious 15 skill points for the elite boxes.

Even with the change in suppression fire, it's still good. Best use for it is to save it until the creature is on top of you, thenforce it down with suppression fire, and run.

The reason why you won't need medic is because you need to work the survival tree. The camp will heal you, so while you're healing, you're getting those needed wilderness xp.

Also, when hunting creature, use traps (preferably combination of traps). It keep you safer and make it easier to kill. At the same time, you get those "grinding" trapping xp.

So, with only ranged support, you'll be working all 4 ranger tree simultaneously and have an easier time. If you hate sitting in camp, then I recommend getting artisan instead of medic. This way, while you're camping, you can pull resources for some little cash. No wasted time at all.
