Thread: Social creatures

And there's the key isn't it? For all weknow those critters were social all the time and a bug was preventing them from behaving as they were designed. It would be nice to know what the original intent was.
"still no word on if this is just the way the game will remain."
As far as I know, the changes to existing creatures were intentional, and will remain.
Thus forcing everyone to be a creature handler of some sorts.

Really? Tera Kasi is working out fine for me. ![]()
Wow, still no word on if this is just the way the game will remain.
"Please go Tera Kasai a pack of fambas and let us know how it goes."
I have... I can usually take one of them down before the others stomp me into bits. ![]()
With that in mind, my best tactic is to attack them one at a time. ![]()
I think fambas are just either regular fambas or rogues, but they now sometimes have a scout.
Actually I liked it when you had to figure out a creature's social behavior when it came to reacting to fire (ie. dappled gualamas vs. maverick gualamas) and which creature would defend whom. But since the patch I have beenon large scale hunts on every planet since Lok, and I guess the reason I'm steamed is that now 90% of the time it doesn't matter whom you start with, the creatures act like you've gone after the lair nowadays and pack up. So in a way it's become less intricate...
Also, I get the whole "scout" thing, but one reason that ledme to thinkthere was a bug involved was when a herd had a scout, and it still didn't matter if you took a shot at him first or not, they would all pile up on you. See what I mean? What's the point of a scout if it really doesn't matter if you take out his buddies first or not? Granted on some creature herds the scout works as I believe was intended, but I know for a fact that a pack of mamiens will go social no matter who you take a shot at, which begs the question what's the point of them having a scout?
Anyway thx for the info, keep up the good work.
"Please be sure to mention that not all the rangers are rifleman so not all the rangers dislike the new social behavior. Some of us melee types like it very much as it gives us more chance to exercise our AoE special attacks. Personally I like it and would like to see it stay."
Not to be overly critical, but why does it have to be one way or the other? You want to use your AoE's, thats fine, so having a good selection of mobs that are social for you to choose from meets your needs. For someone else they want solo's, so they need a good selection of mobs to choose from that meet their needs.
Seems like instead of saying'its great for me', the solution is to say lets have a good 50% social/unsocial mix so that everyone can hunt they way they want to hunt without having to choose one profession over the other. The problem in my opinion is that a ton of mobs are social, some are selectively social (ie males or females, or vivious vs deranged, etc), and a small bit are not social at all. I think we need a lot more selectively social and less fully social. This way if you want to pull them all, go for it, if you want to pull just a couple or a solo you have that option.
Basically instead of saying I am a meleer and I want it this way, lets find something that meets the needs of rangers as a whole, because this is the ranger board, not the rifle, pistoleer orheavy swordboard.
Just a thought.

PS -I am a heavy swordsman as well
Woo... My last post on this thread was a scatter brained, and I apologize...
I thought I was posting on another thread regarding Scout Creatures. ![]()

I still stand by my remarks though... Just thought everyone should know why I seemed to wander off topic. ![]()
With that in mind, my best tactic is to attack them one at a time.
Umm, yeah... the whole point of this thread though is thatnow you can't attack one famba (or many other creatures) without a whole herd giving it to you prison-yard style.

And my post was in regards to the impression that 90% of the animals in the game are assistive. ![]()
- It just seems that way, if a player doesn't take into account the various intricacies in the system.

As for Fambaa, do they come in two genders? How do they react when you attack one gender over the other?
- It's been awhile since I was on Naboo... And that was well before the recent social changed.
