Thread: Wayfaring
i get checks for ch pets all the time..some where up to 178xp checks...they are high level and also seem to break my mask scent quite well... so if your a ch running around with a rancour or what ever +50ch pet, its quite obvious that your going to get more breakings since your consistanly getting checked against a +50 pet.....
where mine consistanly wears off on its own when im outback... its super rare now i get detected... although most of the creatures trying to detect me give 25-50xp ..so level 20-30 mobs there abouts.
I've seen a Bounty Hunter with Wayfairing Mastered and he could crawl prone as fast as the NPC was running away (but still slower than burst run).
And it did look stupid as can be.... like spiderman on a flat surface...

Hi,
I'm a novice Ranger right now and need some advice. My stats look like this...0/0/1/0. What should I go for? Is the Wayfaring tree even worth it? Or should I focus my scouting points on the whole tracking tree?
Daelae.
I guess it depends on what you want out of the profession. I'm planning on Mastering, and I've just finished off the Tracking tree, so I'm right now I'm at 1/2/4/2. I decided to do tracking first because it adds several advantages. There's /areatrack of course, which is generally seen as our most useful ability. Some of the Rangers on the boards get paid pretty well to use it in a group. You also get further bonuses to creature knowledge and harvesting, which are helpful.
The big advantage that Wayfaring gives you right now is /conceal, which is useful if you do alot of NPC hunting. But it seems to me that if you're looking for big scouting xp (and as this is an elite profession, you should be), you aren't going to be on a planet that you'll initially be able to make a camo kit for, which is sort of a catch 22.I *am* looking forward to being able to sneak right up to a storm trooper and /pet him before I smash his face in, but generally I think that tracking is the more useful line at the moment.
Its basically MaskScent 2.0
It will break when you enter combat, unfortunatly, but it also conceals you from npc's whereas MS does not, it also lasts a lot longer and is stronger ( wont break as easy)
