And yup, we realise it was only venting, in much the same way that out, or at least my reply, was intended more to inform other players of what to expect in 'test' than to criticise.
Thanks, good clarificaiton. Sorry then.
I did test this last night almost exactly on Corellia with a Rogue Begeraset last night since they stated that /cover was not fixed. The Rogue Begeraset is cl 78 or 79 currently in the new CU on a balanced planet. Some interesting things came out of that test. The Rogue Begeraset was a cl 13 under the old CU system, and a Master Ranger/Master Rifleman did not even think about a problem with those critters in the old CU. But since at M Ranger/M Rifleman you are topped out at cl 80, you had best take a friend or two along if you want to take out a Rogue Begeraset lair under the new CU.
As we all know, just about always, unless you can draw a creature out without setting off all his friends aggro sensors, you will be gang tackled all the time. Well last night seeing a dark blue con and discovering I was facing a Rogue Begeraset I found one alone and with somewhat of a descent fight I took him out. And by the way /cover did work at least for one shot, because in every case I tried it on lower cons (many were not where I was facing any real challenge, but wanted to see just how /cover since it was fixed really was working before I wanted to see how it worked with a dark blue, a white or even possibly a yellow con.
But with the new CU do not expect to get more than one shot off with /cover before you are found by your target and by his friends, so stand up quickly and kneel and fight or run which ever is most appropriate in the situation. But do not expect the creatures to be anything like they were under the old CU.
And the regenetion level on the Rogue Begeraset is way to fast. Don't expect to fight it and if two or more aggro on you, don't expect to walk away without being incapsed, and be prepared to find out the creatures health is topped out again by the time you are about half way back to your own top health level. So I guess my Rancor experience was not all that far off. Oh, well life will be different under the new system. Lol

See, that IS a cause for concern as is the demented damage multiplier that can make a seriously low level critter, like a nuna, bite back with more power than a rancor with a rubber band round its **edit**.

Sort of hoping that, as testing is theoretically about 'combat' and there seemed to be a dev fixation that combat is when two players or a player and an NPC slug it out that the regen levels and damage multipliers are just another issue that's still to be dealt with. Then again, it's midweek, so am starting to lapse into cynicism about the CU again...

ach, I had a big long post written up comparing current xp / challenge rewards for ranger rifleman (based on last nights levelling on Live) that pretty much supports your argument that things are going to be v. different post CU, but I think I just lost the will to live. LOL.

Might actually be worth duplicating a template from Live to CU and then seeing a) what level it generates and b) what creatures con white to that level of player but bleargh... ok, going to go fill up on coffee and sugary stuff, see if I can't get positive about SOMETHING today
