I dont know how you guys get your resources, but I get mine from purchases. I have spent close to 50k credits buying polymer and steel to make the higher level camps. This is more than a small to medium size house would cost and yet the houses arepermanent. I would love to see the ranger camps stay up for a lot longer then they do now. I hate it when I set up a camp only to have a mob spawn on top of me, agro, and kill the camp. I would love to be able to engage in combat without killing the camp as well. Maintenance on them is a good idea if we were allowed to dis-assemble the camp and re use it elsewhere. Otherwise, if you want to move camp you'll need to make another one thus having to buy or find more material to make it. I know in beta when I first saw a high tech field base camp I strolled into it only because of the map reader. I know I cant personally see my camps on the reader and haven't seen any others who can make field base camps. That should be implemented because these camps are structures and not just a little tent. Hope some of these ideas do get put in.

Survey and sample from the Artisan. Look for a high concentration of the resource and sample while a camp is up.

I'm too tired to post about this again for the bajillionth time... so I'll just quote myself.

"+ < Insert All planet names here > Cabin/ Hunting Lodge deed

We Are Frontiersmen, are we not? Why shouldnt we be able to create a small player structure that can be placed even on the advanced planets? They would use planet specific materials and require an Extreme amount of Camping Experiance to use. They would take up lot space and require maintainence fees just like any other player structure.

These wouldnt be anywhere remotely as good as even the small houses Architects make. Many of us dont even own a house anyhow so it's not like we would be taking away from their market if we can biuld our own crumby hovels. They would have an even more limited item capacity than the already limited small houses. And most of all... they would allow us to be True Nomads and Frontiersmen. Masters of the Wild! That sounds like something that would make us an Elite class for sure!

They would essentially be Planet Specific Extra-Small Houses that only Master Rangers would have access to. Who better to brave those harsh worlds?"

Weez. Herese a post I did on the scout forum a month ago. The concensus of opinion was that we would be infringing on the architects too much.

"This idea was touched on breifly in another tread by BorakThunderclaw and myself. Shouldn't Scouts be able to build thier own semi-permenant homes? I.E. We could build crude structures in the manner of log cabins lean-to's or even grass huts. These structures could be our permenant homes in the wilderness, they would require upkeep in the form of new hides to replace decayiny ones etc.

I know some of us would like a permenant house like the others allready in the game but if we could do the aformentioned, we could blend our homes into the wilderness and have a form of nature preservation."

"Cabin/ Hunting Lodge deed"

-Yes Ki_Gu_Lon... If you check the updated State of the Profession list (available via my signature), you will find a listing for exactly that.

Like I said, I'm tired.

I didn't notice that this was an older thread that you had pinned to the top.

My bad.

- Just trying to bring the debate back to the fore front again (or at least Fred_Skinner is by pointing me towards these threads ).

- I don't see a problem having the architects create the deeds for these cabins or lodges, and then only allowing Rangers of sufficient skill to place them.

- They could have the benefit of being the only buildings allowed on Advanced planets, giving the Rangers (and our select friends )a huge advantage.

- I pinned it to the top to remember to read it (as Fred_Skinner had posted five threads at the same time, and I didn't want to miss any of them).

- I'll unfloat them once I have read them or posted on them.

- You guys are just way too fast for me. I mean, I just floated it, I come back inone minute and two people have posted on the bloomin' thread.

I don't really have a problem with Architects being able to craft these either.

I would prefer that it be a camp schematic for the Master tier, something I could be proud of and not just a broken Dathomir Camouflage Kit, but I would still grudgingly buy one if it was built by an Architect.

I mean, if I can build a High Tech Field Base, why can't I put together a small thatch or adobe hovel?.. Kinda like the little domed hovels that settlers have on Tatooine (just abit bigger so we could at least fit inside em ).

And it should be for any planet, man I would love to have a base on Dathomir.

I like the idea a lot. I dont think the structures shoudl be completly permanent though. Perhaps they should last until you log, but thats it. This way your not taking anything from architects or anyone else.
